UREALMS: IN THE HALL OF THE MOUNTAIN KINGS

URealms Theme Song

Hello my friends, and welcome, to the next campaign of URealms! Whether you’re here to play, or here to read, I hope you enjoy. This time, we’re doing an interesting campaign called In The Hall of the Mountain Kings

yNX7xmo.png

PLOT:
”This is an urgent communication from Prince Dundenburrow, on behalf of my father, the glorious King Dundenburrow, of the glorious Kingdom of Dundenburrow. We have heard word that agents of the Cult of Bones, the vile sect of Death Worshippers, have infiltrated the Old Castle of Maldenburg. As you would know, Maldenburg was the Capital of the Ancient Dwarven Empire, where Thor himself would party with his Subjects before his Imprisonment, and is the Tomb of the Emperors of Old. We fear that the Cultists have entered Maldenburg to convert those who lay there into Mindless Beasts of Death. Doing so would be very detrimental to not only our Domain, but to all of the Realms.”

”Since the Elven Armies are pre-occupied with Porcs and their own Cult problems, we turn to the Paladin Order of Antokg, one of the most powerful and glorious Paladin Orders in the world, to take care of this mess. Sending our own men into the Tomb would be a Public Relations Nightmare and send our Domain into Panic and disarray, especially with my father’s deteriorating health. Money is no object, and we will be willing to pay nearly any price. We sincerely hope that you at least consider our offer.”

This was the letter sent to Grandmaster Geromane Vinisto, of the Paladin Order of Antokg. A righteous and proud Elf of the glorious Vinisto Family, he knew that protecting the realms from the Cultist menace was of upmost importance. Seizing the chance to save the Dundenburrow Kingdom, he and his men marched to the Kingdom. After discussing the situation with the King and Prince, Grandmaster Vinisto accepted the Quest. A day or so later, the Paladin Order of Antokg was in the Court of the Castle. Soon, they would be in the Halls of the Mountain Kings…

RULES:
  • PLEASE READ THE RULES BEFORE SIGNING UP!
  • When buying items, MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE SPACE USING THE CHARACTER SHEETS!
  • BE KIND WHEN OUT OF CHARACTER! Don't insult other players or the GM. Doing so will kick you out of the group. You can be mean to each other in character.
  • THE GM IS ALWAYS RIGHT. Even when he's wrong, he's right.
  • THIS RP IS HEAVILY ART FOCUSED! Your characters and the world around them will be presented in the forum as if it were an actual board game (even though I’m a bad artist).
  • All dice rolls are to use a 20-sided Die Roll. To protect from cheating, I shall be rolling all dice in game and will provide evidence of these rolls. The only time you will roll a Dice yourself will be for your characters' stamina. All dice rolls will come from this website.
  • We need at least 4 characters to start this RP, and will be accepting no more than 10 in total.
  • Respect the rules of the Paradox Forum please.
  • The absolute most important rule is to HAVE FUN!

Created by the God Thor in his Image, Dwarves are known for their hairiness, passion to drink and love to fist fight. Name: Mainur Settenstorn
Physical Description: Kobolds, they all look the same - but Mainur has spent much time with elves and adopted their stature, which makes him look more confident, almost regal.

Background Information: Mainur was orphaned in an elven raid and taken captive by one of the knights, who gifted him to his daughter as a pet. Baby kobolds don't make for great pets, though, and Mainur escaped as soon as he got the chance, taking only the knight's oversized winter quilt and some food. He travelled to the city, where he spent many years on the streets living a miserable life as a thief. Salvation would come though, as the Paladin Order of Antokg recruited him as a squire. His fighting abilities and civilised manners (for a Kobold) were quickly noticed there, and Mainur Settenstorn promoted to Paladin.

His squire Thain was assigned to him by the Order and they haven't seen any combat together yet. However, Mainur is glad to have such a strong and bulky squire - Thain could carry anything he'd ever need and more. Supposedly, Thain joined the Order after his brother Cain went missing, presumed dead, determined to live a heroic life in his brother's memory.

Name: Alain Dragsfur
Physical Description: Short for a gnome, only reaching a height of about 1'8", Alain makes up for his height deficiency with pure ferocity of the battlefield and unnaturally good looks off it.
Background Information: Once a traveling con artist and erstwhile womanizer, Alain found himself stranded and exposed (in more ways than one) in the fortress of a local baron. On his way to the gallows, he was intercepted and recruited by the Grandmaster of the Paladin Order of Antokg. Grateful for the reprieve in sentence, Alain threw himself into his new work. However, his recent appointment of a, shall we say, comely squire has prompted him to revert to some... old habits.

This All looks good so far, except that the Passives are your Class, so you need a 3rd Ability. Since you took the Squire Passive, you also get a Random Humanoid Companion, and your Companion is:

A Black Boar Porc Sorcerer. Your Squire has Forn Mastery. Not a bad Squire, I must say. You get to give him 3 Sorcerer Abilities and you gain an additional 1200 Gold. Next, your 3 Random Treasures are:
Your Porcs random Companion Abilities are:

Finally, for the Stamina Roll, you were allowed to do it yourself, but I'll just do both it and your Porc for you right now.

Your's is 20 (so you're a powerhouse right now).

Your Porc is 19. Dang man, you two are very powerful. Just add another Ability to your Kobold, and then give 3 Sorc Abilities for your Porc, and you're good to go for lore! :)

Physical Description: An Ogre head that is bald, has minor facial scarring and a glorious beard.

Background Information: Horace Wittingzer is the left head of the Ogre body he shares with his brother Wendell. He cares for Wendell, despite his problems, and has always been considered as his brother's keeper. During the time he spent in control of their body he was trained by a Dwarf monk. Horace had developed a love for Pot Puppies and had loving raised a group, he has used their seeds to replant them many times over the years and currently has yet to replant them for the year. He also is an avid fan of roleplaying, to the point of carrying a d20 and a ten foot pole everywhere, although, for him as an Ogre, its more of a hiking stick.

Looking good so far. Again, Squire is a passive for Paladin, so you need an additional Ability for your Gnome. First, your Humanoid Companion is:

A Willow Folk Forn Booty Raider. It is also Deaf. Your Forn needs 3 Booty Raider Abilities, as well as either a Golden Flintlock or a Golden Cutlass. The Abilities you can give it are:
Next, your 4 Random Treasures are, and your Random Attribute is:

Remember, you may veto one of these Abilities, but not your Attribute. Finally, your Stamina Rolls.

Yours is 20 (This really is a great Paladin Order :D)

Your Squires is 1. Alright, just get an Additional Paladin Ability, and give your Forn 3 Booty Raider Abilities, and you're All set!

Your very welcome! :)

Your Ogre is looking good so far, just keep in mind that if no one else wants to be an Ogre, it might be safe to have a Back up just in case.

Your Nimbus's Class is Whitesmith. So you must now choose 3 Abilities for your Ogre Whitesmith:
In addition to having a Whitesmith Mutli-Purpose Hammer, they will also have:
Finally, your Stamina Rolls (Which I need to remind All Future Players that they can do it themselves!) are:

Yours is 13.

Your Nimbus Familiars is 6. Once we have a 2nd Ogre, I'll give you both the Go Ahead for Lore. It's important that we know we have a 2nd Ogre, as well as your guys Sub-Race, for this Character.

Only problem with this App is there are no Humans in the Urealms Universe: The closest thing to a Human is a Tall Dwarf. For the purposes of your Story, you'll want Elves, who are essentially the most dominant race in the Realms.

Also, I would imagine you wanted to give your Porc Squire a name and a background, but I guess you don't have to, and I can make up stuff for you. :p

Basically Accepted! Just do some minor tinkering with your story, and maybe give your Porc a name and background or something, and you're all set! I'll get work on your Character Sheets ASAP!

No humans?! Gah, I suppose I'll have to make do with those haughty Elves then.

Porc story added, I put in a nod to our big friend Cain :D

Just wondering @DingoWalley, why was Operation S.I.L.V.E.R.B.A.K. delayed?

A number of reasons; mostly I need to think of more combat scenarios for Operation SILVERBAK, because right now I can only think of 3 Combats, of which only 2 are really necessary. I'm coming up with ideas right now for it. This Campaign is going to be chock full of Combat Scenarios, though. :)

Background Information:
Wendell Wittingzer is the right head of the Orge body shared with Horace. While intelligent in his own right, shown with his ability to use several spells, Wendell is much more unhinged compared to his brother. Often he has a tenancy to lash out at anyone for little to no reason, often with terrible results. As a result, both brothers are often kept on constant watch, with Horace expected to try and keep his brother in check.

This all looks good to me. Your random Attribute is Insane; your character is insane.

Alright, so now you and DragonOfAtlantis need to come up with the lore for your Combined Ogre character. You both have the Lore Approval! :)

What exactly is the benefit of Book of Bloodlust over Combat Banner?
Nothing really but thanks for pointing it out since I thought you took the combat banner for some reason

Yeah, the only real difference between the 2 is that you have to constantly activate the Book, where the Banner is constant. You can switch the Book out for the Banner.
