Will AI behaviour be affected by its civics choices and ethics, or will there still be AI personalities shaping how they conduct their business?

EDIT: Seen this has been answered, but does this also mean that empires will attempt to keep their initial ethics throughout, or will the AI just let things take their course?

So, on Sycrentic Evolution, can we pick the name and portrait of the second species? I can understand if some of the traits have to be randomized, but it would be really nice to be able to at least pick the name.

Baring that, are there going to be some limits to how those things are randomized (like the second species is always the same phenotype as yours, or the name is based on your dominant ethics, etc) that we can rely on when writing up our species bios?

Greatly disappointed with the Hivemind hardlocked from Immigration and in to Biological Ascension... Though I fully understand balancing difficulties it can create otherwise.

Oh, well, like Wiz said there is always modding. Actually...

@Wiz - if it is not much of a bother to answer - Hivemind properties are accessible on the level with main "defines" file (or "common" folder in general) or more trickier?

Well only the flesh is weak is cybernetic, second one is going full snyth by uploading minds into robots.

So? What?

By the virtue of having non-Hive Mind pop dying in Hive Mind civlization and vice verse. You are forcing a one-dimension solution to a problem that has different way of solving the same problem. IE forcing you to go biological gene modifying route as opposite to using cybernetic or Psi or whatever else to make possible non-Hive Mind pop integrating into Hive Mind Civilization.

See the problem? Only one solution when there are at least 2 other feasible alternative already in-game!

Glorious!

How much longer are you going to torture us by withholding the release date for this incredibly juicy expansion? :p

Are there any unique events for the Advanced Civics? Especially for the Mechanists, as they just give you some techs early, and otherwise do not have any sort of unique feel to them.

As Hive Minds rely completely on their ability to communicate psionically with the drone population, they are also unable to rule over non Hive-Minded Pops, and any such Pops in your empire will automatically be killed over time and processed into food to feed the Hive.
Please make it so that we can choose the purge policy as a hive mind: I would love to play a 'nice' hive that just displaces pops, instead of processing them into foods ;) After all, us being linked together into one godlike being does not make us barbarians, or starfish for that matter

You mention in the dev diary that a name is generated for your empire from civics/authority. Are we still able to set custom empire names?

This dev diary looks so very good I want to lick it.

One question tho. If one would want to play a less evil hive mind, would it be possible to just expel/banish non-hivemind pops rather than eating them?

I'm kinda surprised that none of you "nice hive mind" players seem to question the part of conquering other species' planets only to force them to migrate away <_<

Like, at some point you are going to run out of room where to move those species if you are going for galactic conquering :p

Wouldn't "nice hive mind" ally with other races rather than conquer their planets?

It's trading a permanent bonus for a starting bonus. Considering how much advantage a good early start confers, I don't think it's unbalanced at all.
We'll see how it plays out! :)

Can hive minds use robotic workers, or do they eat/disassemble them too?

Hive minds will make some things (Tech, Buildings, Traditions) obsolete, right?

For example everything increasing happiness is useless for a hive mind.

So will they get some kind of replacement for these, or will they just "lose" some parts of the game?
