Most probably the 101. as I want to try an airborne deck (and, if in, the 17. SS-Panzergrenadierdivision as they apparently had a Fallschirmjägerbataillon attached to it) and the 21. Panzerdivision as I really like the french units that were captured, mostly the Char B1.

3rd Canadian Infantry Division for me; that way, I can crush the 12th SS all over again.

101st and Panzer Wehr etc are a bit too popular, i like playing those with less popularity, just like Red Dragon in WGRD.

I`ve alvays had that *adore* for Fireflies. Even bought a Dragon model kit for it:p
John Bull`s glorious tank division here I come!

Whatever german division gives me the most Le.IG 18 pieces will be my favorite, So probably an infantry division.
I know its a bad reason but I have been fanboying about this equipment for so long and barely any ww2 games acknowledge its equipment.
I'm hoping eugen won't be one of them.

any of the US armored divisions.

I would have shared the 2nd Armored, but im pretty sure its offensive motto isint allowed here lol. so heres the 3rd :p

could you find a larger image?

Ill probably take a german panzer division.

I've always been a fan of Commonwealth factions in Wargame, and also mained British in both Company of Heroes games. So it stands to reason that it'll probably be a Canadian or British division.

it's pity that allies lacked decent tanks like Panther or IS

Lol

I don't know much about the IS, but the Panther was a janky, unreliable-as-hell tank that was pressed into service before it was ready. It was also difficult to sight, and it had a curved turret mantlet that caused deflecting shots below the barrel to go straight into the thinner top armor. Turret rotation was also not only very slow, it varied by engine speed (compared to the Sherman's electric turret that could spin 360 degrees in 15s, the Panther took anywhere from 15-45s depending on engine RPM), which meant that to spin the turret quickly, the driver either had to gun it and fire on the move, or be an easy target revving the engine in neutral.

The Sherman was the best tank in its class in the time period. Reliable, easy to service, and well-protected against most threats shy of the heaviest German tanks, most of which were produced in relatively small numbers and suffered big reliability problems that caused many of them to be destroyed by their own crews so that they couldn't be captured after breaking down. Wet ammo storage racks, soft steel, and spring-loaded crew hatches also made it incredibly safe as far as tanks of the era went — crew survival rates for knocked out Shermans were very high.

Unfortunately, the fantasy depiction of the war represented in movies and video games portray little to none of these advantages and disadvantages.

In a strict firepower sense, upgraded Sherman designs that were on a much more even footing with the German heavy tanks were ready for the Normandy campaign, but they weren't deemed necessary and thus weren't brought along. The Sherman Firefly gained such a deadly reputation simply because it was the best long-range tank destroyer the Allies brought with them, not because it was inherently the best variant of the Sherman. The 75mm American Sherman was still perfectly capable of battling it out with Panthers at closer ranges, where its faster turret rotation was a big advantage.

.

Yup, crew losses were around 1.5 per tank loss, out of a crew of 5 according to the British. Their downside is that they burned very fast, and anyone who suffered an injury was as good as dead. Those occasions where whole squadrons were wiped out were mostly fire sacks where survival would have been problematic no matter the tank.

There is a case where a battery of Achilles (6 guns) destroyed 26 panzers including 10+ Panthers.

I'm personally looking forward to getting the 6th Airborne down nicely. I really hope they have it in and I assume - given Pegasus bridge appears in one screenshot.

Well, it's pity that allies lacked decent tanks like Panther or IS, so looks like i'll have to play nazi. Or some infantry-focused allies, but not 101st - it's too mainstream.
Maybe but tanks really dont matter at the end of the day when the Western Allies completely controlled the skies with planes getting 12-1 kill ratios like the P-51 hell even the F-2A buffalo got a 38-1 kill ratio against the Soviets so even if there was a tank advantage doesnt matter it planes will delete it in a field anyway. Did the Soviets ever get a plane with more then 1-1 kill ratio? (Besides lend leased American planes)

101st all the way im looking very forward to them some of the best looking uniforms with some great weapons will the recoilless rifle be in? if so that will be fun to use.

If there is a Division with bag pipes, preferably coaxially mounted to a tank and connected to speakers, then I'm going to "Black Bear" the crap out of that until the enemy rage quits.
