So the new additions to africa make it actually feel like part of the game and not just something paradox glued on to get rid of excess wasteland. In my game, the sahelians reformed relatively quickly thanks to a lot of stabilty letting them resist holy wars and convert provinces, and well...

Note they hold land in iberia. Trust me when i say that iberian land has sahelian faithfuls as much of the population. Also trust me when i say Ghana has better tech advancement than Paris.

Nice!
That's probably a stronger Ghana than they should be in most games (lucky RNG), but that's why it fits in this thread ^^
I realize I quite like that the Sahara was split into several smaller wastelands now, makes this realm look contiguous in a nice way.

And I'm glad to hear that you like the new Africa, the team put a lot of effort into it to get it right.

Yeah, definitely lucky RNG. I've never seen that before, and I was running observe games for two weeks.

I guess that's good... weird shit happening occasionaly.

Ghana being all alone means they're starting to really hurt, especially as the tyranny of the current ruler is leading to coptic Kanem making further gains.

religion overview so you can see what i mean with sahelians:

I'm quite interested in seeing what happens in north africa once ghana loses hold (the kingdom of africa recently broke free, and theyve since lost their iberian holdings to the noudalids)

Now that's one actually powerful empire. Are they facing any religious war threat?

For some reason when I conquered Italy the HRE just gave up and became the German Empire (Even throught they still are the HRE since they still use Agnatic Elective) but at least they are stronger since they pretty much dominate England and Scandinavia.

Also this is the first time that I have seen so much stable nations at a single game, exclude France because they keep getting on civil war because their kings die before they leave an heir so the country is always at chaos. I even gave up on make marriages to get a alliance with them since it always end bad.

Soooo.... The Queen of France died without a heir... but she had a sister... from another dynasty... and Sunni.

So, I present you a Sunni Kingdom of Navarra.

Edit: I would like to point out the different colour of the counties above the 'V' of 'Navarra', that's part of Lithuania.

I'm also surprised that france changed their sucession law to also allow female rulers, it never happened to me. The kingdom could be destroyed but they would never allow a wowan to be queen

Oh, well, that part is because I have the rules set to full woman equality. Which has created an interesting game, because some of the most powerful leaders have been females (some of the HRE, Byzantine and Fatimid)

on the topic of powerful Ghanas and Navarres...

that's Ghana fighting Wessex (the only independent Anglo-Saxon power in an Irish/Welsh/Breton dominated England) for control of Galicia, with a dynastic off-shoot in Canarias which will almost definitely reunite soon. In honesty this is less 'strange' than 'what happens when you destabilise the Abbasids as fast as possible as Coptic Egypt', but still. I had a couple of really lucky leaders, including a Desert Mother/Leader of the Community of St. Anthony who abused that 'convert county' power ad nauseam, and as a result Sunni moral authority has collapsed. I also got really lucky that every power in the Sahel accepted Coptic missionaries.

Destabilising the Abbasids seemed to power up literally everyone else, including event-rebellion-induced Mazdaki Persia and the Shias (who to be honest I could holy war to death very quickly, but I never get to see them so I'm leaving them alone). I know this isn't as out-there as some screens but a lot of places I don't often get to see prosper (Navarre/Brittany/Ghana) are doing really well while blobs I always see (France/Abbasids) folded really quickly. There are actually no Karlings ruling anything - the Nibelungings are running that Austrasia and France as a title no longer exists. At one point the AI created Belgium.

One thing I like about this game so far is that my biggest threat has turned into the Byzantines, and I'm considering playing Carthage to their Rome (especially because I was already planning to snap up Sicily/more of North Africa).

Nice one!
But is this even WAI? May I ask whether that Azerbaijani republic holds land outside of the Caspian Sea area?
Because local republics there should be forbidden to build tradeposts on the big oceans unless they are present there, too, iirc.
