Hey All!

Today a patch was deployed in preparation for new content, and it appears to have some unintended issues involving crashing and inability to load saves. We're investigating them urgently and hope to have a resolution quickly.

In the meantime, you can help us a TON by posting a full bug in this thread, or forum. Please include as much relevant information as possible. This helps us to reproduce the issues and identify the problem - leading to a quick fix.

Thanks so much for your patience and support!

Eventually I couldn't resist buying the DLC even though the bugs had scared me off at first. So far I noticed two minor annoyances with the Green Cities content (PS4).

  • Icons symbolizing policies and specializations introduced in Green Cities do not appear above districts to which they have been applied. Fortunately, the policies and specializations do get enforced in gameplay, as they should. Icons symbolizing policies and specialization icons from before Green Cities still appear above districts correctly.
  • The new sportshall gymnasium health service building sounds like the medical clinic when zoomed in close to it, which seems wrong.

Another thing worth a mention:
  • While the new tree brush tool is great for populating larger areas with vegetation, the placement of just single trees and bushes worked much better before. Essentially the precision in placing just single trees and bushes has been compromised considerably. Ideally, it would be nice to have a combination of both, i.e. the new brush tool for larger areas of vegetation and the old cursor for precise placement of single trees and bushes.

And just to elaborate on an aforementioned point - since it's so glaring. Changing building styles for a district causes zoned buildings in neighbouring districts to randomly abandon and respawn in a never ending loop. In case you might want to test this yourself, i'd strongly recommend switching auto-save off momentarily, because the bug can make a city collapse in a matter of minutes.

Hi,
i have been experiencing the same issue many have addresed on here.
im on console PS4.
ok.
i open cities skyline-on the 'whats new' page i continue to the main menu.
click new game-new map-garden rivers map with left hand traffic-options page and cheats page-click all cheats-confirm settings-yes-load screen stops 3 quarter of the way.
Now i have Rebuit the data base.
I Have Installed and Un-Instailded the game.
and that hasnt worked.
EDIT: i also cannot load previose load games.

I'm so sad right now. I was really starting to get into this game and been having way too many issues!!! I can't believe they haven't kept console players updated with what's going on!!!

So it’s really bad update how long has this been going on I want to buy the season pas 2 but if this update is crappy then I’m not buying it until it’s fixed any ideas of how long it’ll take to do another update I hope not long

Can you guys please try this and let us know if it worked?

- Change screen area to MAX (System > display) on PS4
- In game in options > Misc make screen safe area to max (Xbox)

Taxes now also seem to adjust themselves in the background. You can set one of the taxes to 10%, leave the budget panel and when you return to the panel the same tax has automatically changed to 11% or 9%. This is a massive bug which I've noticed several times after the update.

EDIT: I investigated this issue a bit more, and it appears that my suspicion of taxes adjusting themselves was wrong. The likely issue is the tax sliders responding to input on the directional stick immediately after entering the budget panel by holding the triangle button combined with pointing the directional stick toward the budget icon. This command does in some instances get picked up by the tax sliders before the budget panel view is loaded on screen, thereby leaving the impression that a tax adjustment was not performed by the player even though it was. So in this case the real issue appears to be some kind of hypersensitivity in the control input.

Jeez well looks like I’m not going to update cities skylines or buying season pass 2 not until they update it again that’s just too much bugs and lots of performance looks poor. When will they update again I hope not long I want the good update tomorrow not in the next 3 months or so

The update was released less than a day ago at best, a few hours only here in North America.

And how long? Who knows. Since the issue isn’t across the board (I had no issues loading or creating any map) they’ll have to find what causes this and then fix it. Depending on how long it take to identify it and then fix it and then re-submitting to Microsoft I’d say it can take somewhere between a day and a week for the full process? My hope is that it’s not more than a few days but I’m also not gonna fret over it. This thread has been opened for 12 hours. They know. They’ll do their job and fix it. It’s not magic, it takes time.

This is the crux of it all. As not all users are affected we are having some issues replicating the problem, hence it's taking longer than we'd hoped. Fear not though, the developers, product team and community team are aware of it and we are trying to ascertain what the cause is as soon as we can.
