At Corinth there were multiple ancient attempts to build a canal. They all failed however, they did succeed at building a portage for boats to be hauled across the land on logs or some kind of road. This should be added.

I couldn't agree more in this one. If Corinth was known for one thing in antiquity that is its strategical position that provided in turn trading opportunities. Corinth had famously two ports, on in the Saronicus and in the Corinthian gulf so in a way it connected the trade of the Aegean sea to that of the Ionian sea. We can assume that a grain ship carrying food from Bosphorus to Rome would most likely pass through Corinth. To further aid their trade and gain a strategical advanage in naval warfare the Corithians had constracted the diolkos (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diolkos). This "highway or railroad" was used to move trade goods and ships (both Mercantile and fighting vessels).
In terms of in game usage I would ditch the Acrocorinth modifier (if each territory could have one modifier) and use a Diolkos modifier. Diolkos would provide a boost to local trade (maybe an extra traderoot or so). In addition to stress its importance during war time I would give the owner of the territory and maybe its allies as well the ability to transfer their war ship through the Diolkos from the Corinthian gulf to the Saronicus and vica versa.

Would the game engine allow a second port on the Sinus Saronicus? That would allow ships to enter one port and sail out of the other, but only if Corinth is controlled by a friendly nation.

If it’s possible, a similar arrangement should be used in Urghat (connecting navigable Don and Volga rivers).

This is evidently not so. At least Alexandria and Rhodos start with two and get a third when their World wonder is completed. And any location can get multiple modifier from events.
That means Acrocorinth should stay (it was an important fortification) and Diolkos become a second modifier.

Sadly the game does not currently support multiple ports for a single territory. If it did then Corinth would have one on both sides of the isthmus.

Would also love to have the diolkos in the game at some point. :)
