Always start via Steam, you should not ever have to run the launcher installer manually.
Still get a crash. Same thing

In future please don't "me too" post in someone else's thread - you have a completely unrelated problem and that makes the thread confusing for everyone. If you run the Windows Updater app does it find anything to apply?
Please go here:
and run the x64 and x86 installers from there.![]()

dear sir thanks for replying and sorry that I wrote here now I how and where to write (I didn't have problems with paradox games at all)In future please don't "me too" post in someone else's thread - you have a completely unrelated problem and that makes the thread confusing for everyone. Thanks.
We now think this is an issue with dual CPU systems.
CPU or GPU slightly below the minimum requirements should not cause a crash like this. If that is confirmed there will be a hotfix soon to address that problem.
Sorry about that!
In the meantime you can revert the game to version 1.03 in the Steam Betas tab for the game, which does not have that problem.
There's nothing of diagnostic use in that log.Alright so I did what you said. No problems seems to have occurred. If there was any corruption, it should now be repaired. I also bothered making a sfcdetails.txt log.
I don't really understand what's in it but maybe it would help you guys.
Still the same crash though...

Let's do a clean reinstall of Steam, game and launcher, as they are all crashing.
- move any valued save games elsewhere
- "uninstall" in Steam-CK3
- exit the Steam app entirely
- manually delete both the Steam/SteamApps/common/CK3 AND Documents/Paradox/CK3 folders
- uninstall Paradox Launcher v2 from the Windows "Apps and features" utility, if still present.
Delete the following folders if still present:
- C:/users/<UserName>/AppData/Local/Programs/Paradox Interactive/
- C:/users/<UserName>/AppData/Local/Paradox Interactive/
- C:/users/<UserName>/AppData/Roaming/Paradox Interactive/launcher-v2/
To see the AppData folder you'll need to enable View Hidden Items in File Explorer.
- delete everything in the Steam folder EXCEPT steam.exe and the SteamApps folder
- run steam.exe as the Windows Admin user, to rebuild all that
- re-install game in Steam, run a Steam Verify when done.
- add CK3.exe to the exceptions list of your antivirus app; ESPECIALLY if you have Windows Defender, add it to the Ransomware "Apps Allowed Through" list.
- start the game with no mods active and test
I don't suppose the 1.1.3 patch helped?
I've never come across a case like that but it's not impossible I suppose.Could some other game that's installed cause the crash?
That caused a problem with Steel Division, as I recall, but no other Paradox game so far as I know.I know the Easy anti cheat program from Fatshark that they use in Vermintide 2 etc can cause problems. It causes my Vermintide 2 to crash when i tab out for example.

How do you feel about a Windows Reset or complete wipe and reinstall? A lot to ask to get a game going, I know, but I'm running out of other ideas!
