bro the sun will rise from the west the day the devs work on east africa ,
"why" do you ask its because of this:
(the following points are not meant to downgrade any nation but to upgrade the states higher, i am not saying so and so a nation is not strong enough to have such and such ideas or bonuses)
1. Adal took over most of ethiopia in the "conquest of Abyssinia" and essentially exiled the emperor to the western part of the nation but in this dream reality of eu4 ethiopia can 3v1 all the somali states , adal is pathetically weak in this game , you can watch a good story of this here
2. Adal allied with the ottoman empire when they were near their full power and received troops and cannons which were the first time used in sub-Saharan africa but the game does not give justice to that
3. The ajuuran empire ( the largest and arguably strongest empire in east africa when the adal war crippled ethiopia leaving ajuuran in the lead) with the aid of the ottomans defeated the then superpower at the time the Portuguese empire at naval combat and liberated the Swahili city states at the same time , but in this game kilwa and air have stronger military bonuses
Throughout the 16th and 17th centuries successive Somali Sultans defied the Portuguese economic monopoly in the Indian Ocean by employing a new coinage which followed the Ottoman pattern, thus proclaiming an attitude of economic independence in regard to the Portuguese.[61]
"The Somali-Ottoman offensive managed to drive out the Portuguese from several important cities such as Pate, Mombasa and Kilwa. However, the Portuguese governor sent envoys to Portuguese India requesting a large Portuguese fleet. This request was answered and it reversed the previous offensive of the Muslims into one of defense. The Portuguese armada managed to re-take most of the lost cities and began punishing their leaders"
The Battle of Barawa was an armed military encounter between the Portuguese Empire and the Ajuran Sultanate, in the city of Barawa. The Portuguese staged a landing and achieved their objectives of sacking the city.
Battle of Benadir
At Mogadishu, João de Sepúlveda "destroyed the city and did them great damage and injury". Moving a few leagues north, he reached a popular anchorage for tradeships coming from the Red Sea, where he learned that the Turks would not be sailing to East Africa that year. Thus he returned to what remained of Mogadishu, and made a peace deal with its rulers.
Passing by Barawa, the city was sacked, in retaliation for its inhabitants having delivered a few Portuguese prisoners to the Turks. After sealing peace with Barawa, João de Sepúlveda returned to Malindi."
