tried to let the game just run for a few hours irl again hoping things would be lively again but boy was I wrong. Public transport usage dropped even more during the few hours. Time to give up trying. May just wait for a year or two and see if the game improves at this stage. Was seriously considering buying the creators contents pack but think I won’t now.
I fell the same. I was optmistic when I saw better perfomance. But when I realised that the game ran better because half the city stopped using mass transit I got so disapointed that I uninstalled the game. Got tired of being disapointed. The only fun thing in this game for me was managing my mass transit, the only part of the game that felt alive imo

Noticing this too myself.

Public transport usage was effectively cut in half, and it really didn't increase performance much either.

Hello! I would like to suggest something. Would it be possible to improve the user interface to divide the low/medium/mixed/high density zones (I know you can filter by packs, but I mean filter by zone type, and have all the packs that have that zone appear). On the other hand, would it be possible to implement some tool so that we can choose to build with several zones at the same time and have buildings from those zones appear?! For example, have an option to choose to build English and French medium density buildings at the same time, and have the buildings from both zones appear at the same time, and not have to go zone by zone, I don't know if I explain myself.

I second this.

I have now all the region packs installed and the 2 creator packs and this is getting beyond cluttered and we are only getting started. Filtering or tabs for low/medium/high density is must because otherwise in the future it will be very messy. It used to be simple with light green, dark green etc but with the mixed building types it is way harder to differentiate as well. Another useful filter would be for all the low rent stuff

Please also take a look at why there is similarly slow or no consumption of media, meals, entertainment, and recreation immaterial goods. @co_avanya are you able to confirm that the team is aware of this issue? I sure hope so, and thank you!

Hi @co_avanya , just wanted to bump this and also ask if you were going to respond to any of the comments asking about the significant drop in public transport usage since the patch? We always appreciate extra info you can provide to help us make sure we're not going crazy with the things we're seeing, especially when the patch notes themselves are so threadbare.

Is the drop in public transport usage something that should only affect (or break) current saves or will this impact new saves going forward? If so, why did the team make this change? Would you please consider addressing and explaining?

This is a really good suggestion. I’ll incorporate it into an existing suggestion that shares similarities with it :)

It currently has 14 votes.

Does anyone have the same problem with micro freezes when creating roads/terraforming/moving camera/zooming and maybe other?
Is it fixed with this patch?
I had created a post on the bug report forum, but still nothing

Since the patch I've been encountering some issues particularly around housing and population growth.

Example: I have a lot of commercial zones, and still have a very high demand for commercial property, yet all of my commercial/industry and government buildings are saying not enough employees to meet demand.

Population growth has stalled at about 15,000 citizens, and decreasing taxes, building more entertainment/services/job opportunities isn't providing any effect.

I have highest citizen happiness with the only negative feedback saying "small house sizes" but I have multiple low density residential areas on big blocks (6x6) zoned for building with space available (all within walking distance to education, jobs and public transport) that aren't being filled.

All general needs are met to a high standard (healthcare, education, entertainment etc), traffic flow is good and crime is 1%>

Unemployment is very low - around 3% and despite all this and building public transport connections to neighbouring cities AND making them free - nobody is moving in to my city anymore.

I've been playing since the game first came out and have it pretty well down pat how to build a high functioning city, this has all only started to be a problem since the latest patch.

Help

So the latest patch has destroyed the game and CO refuses to even acknowledge it. Very on-brand for these folks.
I dont think they will acknowledge what has happened to the game (mass transit usage and traffic) and we will be left scratching heads. At this point my biggest problem with the game is how empty it feels and how little has to be done to prevent traffic jams (as there are no cars and trucks moving around). So this patch really made it worst and we dont even know if it is a bug after the patch or something that should be expected

Launched the game for the first time in months because I wanted to finally see some of those region packs.
After dealing with the initial deathwaves from economy 2.0 (yeah I didn't play for a long time) and let the simulation stabilize... I've also seen that my city is almost empty. It's not a large one (120k) but I definitely remember a few problematic intersections that are suddenly fixed.

As I was in the process of rebuilding my public transport because they kept getting stuck before giving up and stopped playing, I don't even have a sizable public transport system that is used.

I would also appreciate some info if this is intended or if it's a bug on their radar. All I hope is that it's going to take less time than the homeless bug or plenty of others because I would seriously like to play this game I bought more than a year ago.

As for AI traffic, yes, there were some problems. The game sometimes causes cars and people to get blocked at intersections. To fix the situation, I had to set up lights and remove them. Then everything started working. Otherwise, the city would have fallen. It was impossible for city services to reach citizens.

However, I noticed that after the new patch, the crematoria do not work at all.

The number of inhabitants also began to decline dramatically. The outflow of citizens was counted in the thousands. The city had about 200,000 thousand people. Now it is 90,000.

I have one central city in the region (the capital), two large cities, several smaller ones and villages.

Seeing as I've been tagged a bunch in here, I wanted to give a heads up: I'm away from the forum for a while (personal reasons), so please ping @Cities: Skylines Official in the meantime if you have any important questions or issues pop up.

It's the by-product of "fixed an issue where citizens can go shopping in office zone buildings.". There was a typo (OR vs AND) in the game code resulting citizens always going to shop and if traffic's ok visiting office towers to buy software. After 1.1.12f citizens will only go to shop if traffic is green.
intersting post from the modder of the bye bye homeless mod regarding the missing traffic since the last update in another thraed

Part of their simulation is that people drive to office buildings to purchase software? What?
Ever heard of "Game Shops" that sell software and computer games? You know, CD's in plastic boxes.
Perhaps your local "Macro$oft GMbH." are selling their "Kontor 52wks" package (containing applications for text processing, overhead slides and spreadsheets) as installation CD's in their brick-and-mortar outlet in their Head Quarter's ground floor...

My transit use went from 172,000 per month to 122,000 per month. It's a sizeable drop, but the gameplay is not really impacted. If the tradeoff is better performance in large cities, I'll take it.
