I’m a new player (finished tutorial and done a lot of wiki learning), and I am 24 years into a (so far quite successful) Sparta run. I recently (about 3 years ago) got an Alliance with Macedon, but I’m starting to have second thoughts. The Antigonids were fairly successful in the previous Diadochi war, winning a fair chunk of Greece and losing a few territories to Egypt.
Not long before I made the alliance, a few small Greek vassals of Macedon declared independence, which I didn’t see until after I made the Alliance, though Macedon never called me into those wars. The Antigonids, however have only lost one feudatory, which they immediately invaded and annexed.
Would an Alliance with the Antigonids be better?
ote: Egypt is out of the question, as they have territories in Achaea and Arcadia that I want (and need for Missions), and I will hopefully be able to invade the Nile Delta during the Diadochi War, exploiting their zero forts to win a lot of gold and a large number of slaves. So are the Seleukids, but that’s because of Diplo range.
