I know this is an issue that has been discussed in older threads here and there without any sadisfying solution so far. But maybe the time is right for one of the professional custom airport builders to come up with a proper explanation on this phenomenom.
My planes sometimes start to despawn as soon as they have parked at plane stand. I have save games where they don't do it for hours and hours, and taxiway traffic runs smoothly.
I have built an international custom airport with two terminal hubs. Two separated pair of takeoff and landing runways, each with a separated network of partially independent taxiways that run all avross the airfields. The system usually works fine. But sometimes when I do little changes around the runways, like laying down centerlights or adding surface networks the system breaks. One of the two runway systems gets affected by despawning planes. I am pretty sure before I get that issue that I didn't touch any of the runway or taxiway segments. I have not removed parts of it, not even dragged any segment nodes around. So the basic runway and taxiway layout hasn't basically changed for weeks since I laid it out.
Also passenger amount on both airport hubs is stable., and even increasing. Somone pointed out that disapperaing planes could be a result of not enough passengers that want to leave the city. But my planes usually also takeoff with 0 passengers.
Also I haven't changed, added or deleted any of the flight paths.
So my question is: could it be that light networks or other surface networks can interact with road segments of runways and taxiways and screw things up? Or what else can manipulate the way planes behave on taxiways and planestands? The last thing I added onto one of the landing runways was a line of prop lights, not even network based, so I'm pretty cueless.
Thanks in advance!
