I downloaded the Stellaris starter bundle on Steam and installed it on my Macbook Air computer. Unfortunately, whenever I try to play the game, the message "an error has occurred while updating Sterallis (missing executable)" appears. This is because no files are downloaded when installing Sterallis on Steam, I have checked that there are non in the folder, and non when I open the "properties" option on Steam. The installation appears completed as it falls under "completed" in the downloads and updates tab in addition to me receiving a notification saying that the download was completed.

I have tried:

1) Uninstalling and re-installing Sterallis on Steam (several times)

2) Quitting and re-opening Steam

3) Clearing everything from my downloads and updates tab (and then uninstalling and reinstalling Strallis)

4) Turning my computer on and off

5) Backing up game files

None have worked. I currently do not have any antivirus software enabled, and I was really looking forward to playing this game, if anyone can offer any fixes or help on how to fix this please let me know, otherwise I will have to refund the game which would be incredibly dissapointing considering how I really wanted to play this with some of my friends.

Solution
This can only be a Steam issue, but I don't think I've ever seen it before!

Please try a **clean** reinstall of Steam and game:

- Remove the game from Steam (uninstall)
- Manually delete all these files and folders, if still there:

~/Library/Application Support/Steam/SteamApps/common/Cities Skylines/
~/Library/Application Support/Steam/userdata/<SteamID>/255710/
~/Library/Application Support/Steam/SteamApps/workshop/content/255710/
~/Library/Application Support/Colossal Order/Cities Skylines/
(first move the /saves/ folder elsewhere to keep your save games)

- do a clean Steam reinstall

- Install the game again and see if it runs now.

Good luck!

Hey! Thank you SO SO much for spending the time trying to fix this, but none of these files were found. I checked the content logs for Steam, and it appears that whenever I tried to download it, it appears that it would download with no hitches, but then thousands of lines of (code?) would proceed to say that my apple ID has an "invalid manifest" for a certon depot ID and skip it, and it would do this for what appears to be thousands of times for different depot ID's.

I'll try to find out what it means to have an "invalid manifest" but if someone could explain what in the holy hell is wrong with my steam I would very so very appreciate it. Thanks anyways and have a great day!

UPDATE: After having done a clean steam re-install, it is now working. Thanks so much!
