I've noticed that subject loyalty can fluctuate wildly, going from 40 to 0 in a blink. When it drops to 0 it is usually from a modifier called "power realtive to overlord", which will be usually -40 to loyalrty. So I re-read the wiki part about subject loyalty. One of the factors mentioned is "relative size of it's army", does anyone know exactly how this works? Does it only count on legions and raised levies? Btw, I saw there was a 3 year old post about this, but I guess there have been some updates, since then.

It is due to how levies work. PDX never came arounf reworking subjects (was one of the next plans)

If I'm not mistaken, it happens when you disband your levies. As there are a few months during which you can't raise them again (4 months or more), your subjects "believe" that your military power is weak (levies you can't raise are not taken into account).

Worst time is when the subject still has the levies raised after a war but you have disbanded them already.

Bonus fact: You can abuse this the other way round for diplo vassalization. Need some more points to be able to vassalize somebody, raise/keep your levies shortly after they have disbanded theirs. They will consider themselves very weak until they can raise them again and in this time you then might be able to vassalize them.
