I haven´t had a single random CtD yet on 1.03b.....

Did you follow the installation procedures in the top threads, and are you playing a continued save?

I followed the instructions and deleted all my old save games.

In a very short time of playing 1.03b I've had a crash on autosave and, I think, at a birth - which I'm trying to reproduce (as it were!), had no crashes at 1.02 except running at fast or higher speed

Solmyr identified a fix for some crashes when trying to save the game. I was able to fix a repeating CTD this way as well. Check out this thread:

hmm, thanks but my autosave crash was for a brand new game, ie it was the very first time it tried to save - since then I've turned autosave off and been saving/loading fine, but I wonder if my CTD when a birth was due was in some way related, trouble with that is it will be impossible to get it in a save file if its the creation of a new character that triggers the bug

Random crash in 1.03b

Ditto with me but it seems to have to do with the time lapse speed. Was playing Byzantium. Perhaps the faster speeds are too fast to keep up with all the little hammers (ie. development) in the new patch?

Well, after removing the bugged lines from the save game this morning we were able to continue our game for about an hour without a crash. After that the host started crashing about every 30 minutes. I started saving the game after every year so we wouldn't have to back up too far after a crash. Soon I was saving it every 6 months, then every 3 months, then every time anything happened that we didn't want to lose or have to do over again. 5 times we had to abandon the most recent save and go back several years because the game was crashing every time a few days after loading. We finally gave up because we were spending more time saving and reloading games than actually playing.

I'm starting to wonder if anyone saying they've had no crashes under 1.03b has played more than 30 years into the campaign. Am I the only one having this many CTD problems?

No you most certainly are not! I get random CTD when I play 1.03b.
I start to wonder if it could be related to autosaving though (I.e. crashes when the game autosaves). I have a friend that doesn't seem plagued by CTDs, and his hardware are almost identical to mine.

Started a new game in 1.03b. Minimal crashes in the beginning, now it crashes more and more as I got to 13th century. Had to reduce speed from fast to above normal yesterday. I dont use autosave and CTDs are not repeatable. The game is just going unstable on me.
