1.05 Installation Problem

Hello, Every time I try to run the 1.05 installation I get this message:

An Installation support file 'C:\Program Files\Common Files\InstallShield\engine\6\Intel 32\iKernel.exe could not be installed.

The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect.

I am wondering if you have a way to fix this, or is there a version of 1.05 I can install manually from winzip? I have redownloaded the patch about 9 times, deleting it after every download so I have a clean patch file. Also I went to Installshield website already and looked at the support section for this very issue, downloaded the engine and tried all the steps and it still wont work.

Right now I am running under Windows XP Professional.

P.S. This is only HOI 1.05 patch related, all other patches / game installs I have done have run perfectly.

Yes I do, its all there.. it just wont install for some reason.

Last modified = September 5, 2001, 5:24:02 AM
File version = 6.31.100.1190
Language = English(United States)
File Size = 596 KB (610,436 bytes)
Size on Disk = 600 KB (614,400 bytes)

Does this match yours exactly?

You may have a later version.

The best advice I can offer right now is to contact Stategy First tech support and let them know the problem. They are the ones who write the installer program for your version. Therefore we do not have the programming details.

Let me see what I can come up with.

It seams they have taken the patch down from their site.

Did you get your copy there or from the Paradox site?

The only thing I can suggest is completely wiping HOI off your drive and then doing a fresh install from CD then try just 1.05, no other patch.

Before you do that though try and install something else that requires Install shield just incase the problem is with that. I would not want you to be unable to install the game at all.

I got patch from paradox, Ill try the uninstall. but last time I tried to install HOI it was kinda hard , well see tho.. thanks for the help
