You could install it. The only problem you might have is with some text being English. Not sure about this, I will check upstairs.
Or you could just back up your save games and try it. Then let me know. :)

thx for the answer

thx for the answer, I will try to install it this weekend. I don' t mind some english text, if it works. I would actually prefered the english version, but was not able to get it via my favourite game store.
As soon as I have some results, I will let you know. Btw when can we expect 1.06 (with german lang. support ;-) )?

Best

The answer is always "when it is out" :)

good news

1.05b seems to work with the german version. at least the game is still running ( 4 hours now).

But I also recognized a very nice other feature of the german cd. you can install HOI in german and in english! from the german CD distributed by Koch Media. I don't know why I didn't recognized that in the first place. Thats great, now I have the german version on my stationary computer and a english version on my laptop. Both running with 1.05b.
Actually the english version is nicer, the german version has still some problems with translations, e.g. some words in german are to long to fit in the corresponding space. So for example in the tech-tree you can sometimes not read everything, because 1 too-long word is overwriting an other.
I haven't seen this yet in the english version.

Ehm, I might be dumb or something, I don't know, but where can I download 1.05b? On the Paradox download page there's only 1.05, and in the forums the latest patch is 1.05.
However people talk about 1.05b, so where can I get it?

Thanks in advance,

Low
:p

I am not going to GIVE you the link, because it is in very plain site!

I will give you some clues.
1) Check the HOI general Discussion forum.
2) Forums have things called "Sticky" threads that are locked at the top of a forum because they are deemed to be easy to find and are supposed to be read and reviewed when ever a member visits.
3) Threads use a good descriptive name for what they contain, So one that pertains to 1.05B would have that somewhere in the Thread Title.

Sorry if this seems harsh, but I could not resist. The number of people who claim they have searched the forums back and forth and cannot find any mention of this 1.05B, when it is in as obvious a place as is possible to put it. So you are just standing in for the rest. Don't take it personally. ;) :D

I won't take it personally, thanks for the tips. After some searching I found it...ehm...in hindsight it was really rather easy to find, sorry. Next time I'll look better....
