I am running XP Pro in admin mode. When I run the patch, I get the message that EUII is not installed on my machine, then it aborts.
Any ideas on why this is happening?

2 major causes are:
A) You are trying to install the wrong patch for your version of the game.
B) The path did not get properly written in the registry.
So to eliminate A tell me what publisher logo is on your CD?
Then tell me which patch and from where you downloaded it?

Focus multimedia and Ubi Soft are on the cd logo.

That would be your problem.
UBI does not do the North American version.

Depends if you have the UK, german or French version.
Try the UK version first.
