At least in the 1.09 changes 24/25, after Nationalist China is annexed, and then a Japanese China puppet is created, Chiang Kai-shek can still be used as a general for this Facist China.

I doubt this is WAD.

In a way it is. He is only deactivated by the annexation via event, more precisily by liberation of china via event. If this liberated china is annexed and libereted again he would also be available. IIRC similar happens to leaders. Leaders can improve their abilities and they can die. Annex a nation and liberate it a few weeks later and all leaders are back to normal.

So the only way to resolve this is to make specific events removing him if China becomes Fascist/National Socialist?

Yes. And it would need to be a permanent event as well. Another option is to not sleep Chiang kai-Shek, but only to bring someone else into power.

I said Chiang Kai-shek can be a general for Fascist China, I'd to think he cannot also become a minister for them!

It could perhaps be an idea to have a sleep event for Chiang if N.china is a puppet to Japan when he is HOS or HOG. IIRC he do not work as HOG?

I don't know about him being a minister. I said he remains a military general of a puppet China.

He may easily be HoG and HoS and many other types of ministers at the same time, even while being fascist. If China surrenders to Japan and is then liberated he is slept. It seems to me as if things work fine.

So you agree with a situation where Chiang Kai-shek's nation is annexed, and once released as a Chinese puppet, he then fights for his former arch-nemesis?

There were some opportunies of a negotiated peace which would have made china a puppet of some degree. Chiang Kai-shek was a anticommunist and he had already served in the japanese military from 1909 to 1911. So i see no necessity for him to not participate in a japan friendly government.

By that logic Churchill should lead an Axis England, sending troops to fight the USSR.

Replace should by could and it works. He said something like "we slautered the wrong pig" after WW2. If you want former enemies to never cooperate you open pandoras box.

That quote is highly disputed (as are many quotes apparently made throughout history). If you want former enemy Heads of State/Government to co-operate you distort reality.

If you want to prevent it at all costs you may distort reality even worse. Trying to reflect such kinds of disagreements in an ahistorical scenario contains all kind of risks. The lack of an alias system is much more severe.

As regards Churchill you should not forget that he is classified as SC, so he is not available for a nazi government anyway. Chiang Kai-shek however is classified as PA, so he is available for FA.

Chiang kai-Shek had IIRC military education from Japan? IMO he reminds me a little bit of Franco. From 1936 and on I would regard Chiang as sceptically to Japan in general and would in most cases not cooperate with Japan unless something very big happens like a Mao and Stalin goes wilde.

Agreed. He made preparations for a long term war with Japan as early as July 1934, and put this into practice throughout 1937-1945. This is highly indicative of a man with an unfavourable view of Japan. Arguably he was more anti-communist then anti-Japanese, even during the Second Sino-Japanese war, but I highly doubt he would've surrendered China to Japan in order to ensure Mao's defeat. Obviously, history shows us the opposite.

Not sure about the triggers. try this in the death event file.

Thankyou! If this is to be included in vanilla, I'd recommend a second trigger: Japan is allied to China and the Nanjing massacre has occurred.

I agree on the Nanjing massacre but not via alliance becuse it should be allowed to role-play this in multiplayer.

Can you test this event in 1936 grand campaign? I didnt work in the 41.
