Hi! I'm running EUIV on macOS Mojave (Intel Iris Pro, 2.2 GHz Intel Core i7, 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3, SSD) and the game is now excruciatingly slow. I fondly recall having smooth and largely enjoyable games before this version, and the game now actually still loads pretty quickly before the "single player-multiplayer" interface shows up. Then it becomes more of a powerpoint presentation than a game. Guess it's something with the map that has gone wrong but I'm really not sure.

A couple of questions:

1. Is there anything I can do to run the game smoothly on my current computer on MacOS?
2. Will there be a hotfix to tackle with this issue? If so, when?

Thanks for your help. I am running the game with no Mods on but all the DLCs. Feeling sad because I tried to use this game to quell my loneliness but even my computer won't play with me.

There's a mod linked in that thread which will help. We don't' yet know if the devs will fix it, as noted Intel video systems are not supported hardware for this game.

Thanks! Will try and see whether it works. Odd that before 1.29 things were doing reasonably well....
The game and its patches are not tested on unsupported hardware, of course. So essentially it was luck that it ran okay before 1.29; clearly there is some change in 1.29 that triggered this problem (on Macs only BTW).

Sorry that happened to you! But at least you know where you stand now.

yea buddy you're not alone: https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/foru...on-macos-10-14-6.1246328/page-5#post-26005215

Be prepared for the mods to tell you your specs are out of date and no longer supported now.
Thanks for your reply earlier. I logged on my PDX forum account after 3 years of not playing EUIV (and certainly not purchasing any EUIV DLCs since Nov 2019).

Also thanks devs for telling me to get a better laptop and refraining from fixing the issue (despite people in the thread constantly proposing ways to fix it): I eventually got a M1 Max MacBook Pro and had my fair share of fun over the years. Seems that the game works on M1 Max pretty well now, just not that well on me anymore. Thanks for helping me cure my EUIV addiction.

The other poster here says "your specs are out of date and no longer supported now", which is untrue - the game has NEVER been supported on Macs with Intel video systems; it is just that by happy accident it used to run adequately on them, but no longer did in 1.29.

That said, this thread is over 3 years old and I can't say we're seeing other such reports now, so this situation may have been ameliorated by another happy accident. Do let us know if you give it a try now.
