1.3 installation?

Ok, I feel stupid for asking this because I'm decent with computers... but no where in any of Johan's threads are installation instructions... they simply say "copy over with this".

Copy over what? I try to open the downloaded file (1.3) but it just says "select a program to open it with"... do I download it into the Program Files? Do I just dump it into the Paradox Interactive file... what do I do with it? "Copy over with this" doesn't mean anything to me.

Assuming you are talking about the Armageddon 1.3 beta patch, it is an archive file which you must extract into your Armageddon folder. It sounds like you don't currently have a program for opening .rar files; the 'official' one from the creator of the format is WinRar (http://www.rarlab.com/ ).

I have tried to extract 1.3 using both winzip and winrar, it doesn't seem to work. I have over 6600 errors, here is a sample of what it tells me

! C:\Users\*****\Documents\armageddon 1.3.rar: Cannot create Hoi2.exe
! Access is denied.
! C:\Users\*****\Documents\armageddon 1.3.rar: Cannot create ai\afg_1936.ai
! Access is denied.
! C:\Users\*****\Documents\armageddon 1.3.rar: Cannot create ai\afg_1945.ai
! Access is denied.

I have installed DD arma patch 1.2 and am using vista. Any advice appreciated.

Don't install games in Program Files or other protected folders in Vista. Something like C:\games would be best.
