I just updated to 1.3 and the trade window now automatically closes after a few seconds. Very irritating indeed as you might have lot of possible trade routes to evaluate for a given position or maybe you just need to pay attention to your wife for a moment :D Rather no tool tips than this enhancement. I am definitely not playing 1.3 until this is fixed. I would just go  if I tried :)

I am having the same problem as Rome in the 2nd Punic War in 1.3

have you started new games? It is not supported to run old save game sin 1.3

Might be worth uninstalling, manually deleting the game directory, and re-installing. Make sure you move any valued 1.3 save games elsewhere first.

I'm having the same problem, even after reinstalling the game. Interestingly enough, it appears to be linked to specific kingdoms. For example, I started a game as Macedonia, and, as gunnarro describes, the trade route window closes after a variable delay of between about 3 to 10 seconds. However, I then started a new game as Rome, and the trade route window remained open indefinitely. Finally, I started another new game as Macedonia and the problem appeared to have gone away. The trade route window remained open for a long time, allowing me to browse possible routes and then make a decision. Unfortunately, the problem then resurfaced after a few minutes and the trade route window began closing again after just a few seconds.

I'm having the same problem with the trade route formation window not staying open more than a few seconds (at least alot of the time).

Just installed patch 1.3, and had started a new game as Parthia to try it out.
I've not tried a new 1.3 game under any other nation yet.

Reported. Can anyone provide a save game that demonstrates it reliably, please? Include instructions on what actions you need to do to trigger the problem, thanks.

I just start a new game as Carthage. Open trade window for any of my provinces and it automatically closes after a few seconds whether I point at it or not.

thought i'd add that the same happens with the View City pop up window. it times out after a few seconds and closes on it's own. although i don't use it a lot, i don't remember this happening in 1.2...

I also have this problem with the trade window being closed suddenly. Maby a smaller update to v 1.3 could fix it...

You don't need a save game to consistently reproduce this problem. I uninstalled Rome, reinstalled and installed 1.3 on top. Problem still persists.

I have done the same, the problem remains... :(

sigh...a no brainer:

1. start a new 1.3 game (duh, not a 1.2 save game)
2. pick any country, any year
3. select a province and open its trade window.

there's no trigger, do steps 1 and 2 anytime and viola!

"Viola"? Are you stringing me along?

What Windows are you other guys with "voila" problem running? I am running XP myself. Maybe the problem is related to a specific version of Windows if not everybody is experiencing this problem? And the issue was definitely not there with 1.2, so it has to be the result of some changes brought into the 1.3 patch.

I see the problem in Windows XP 64 bit.
