1.3 with Windows x64

1.3 with Windows x64 - (On-Demand version?)

It won't install for me... most patch programs look for certain registry keys before they install and since I have Win XP x64 they are different.

Can anyone tell me what reg keys this program needs to install so I can manually insert them?

Pretty please? This is a huge let down having a patch that wont deploy

I do not think it looks for any as I did not install the game but just copied folders over from my old machine to a new one and the update intalled fine. Although my check sum is not right so I need to do a clean install.

I uninstalled HOI2 before i applied patch, made clean install, and the game found that my prior version was 1.02 during patch 1.3 install, it definitively picked up some old registry since the version on my HD was 1.00

Error message states- Hearts of Iron 2 is not installed on your computer. Please install the game before installing the update. The installation will now exit!

HOI2 is in my Add/remove progams in the control bar... I know it's installed

Of course Windows is at fault here, and not you trying and to run an application that wasn't designed to run on x64.

Okay maybe not... I just tried it with my other computer Win XP pro and it does the same thing.

I have the On-Demand downloaded Version of HOI2 is this the problem?

Yet, how did you uninstall it?
Unlike the one person on the thread I manually deleted HOI 2 entire out of the Paradox Interactive folder. Then restarted. I did not use windows to unistall the game as I do think it leaves things.

So when I inserted the disk, I 'repaired' it. Then installed the 1.3 patch which read that I had ONLY 1.0 on the drive.

I am using XP Pro x32, but XP Pro x64 should be no different 95% percent of the time.

I hope this works for I am migrated forth with to x64.

Uninstalled with the Uninst.exe.

I think it'll work with a Disc install on Win x64. I just have to get a disc now. Best buy and Gamestop had no copies. Can't believe I have to order the game online... again.

its not windows, i dont use windows 64(im not stupid enough to switch to a platform with low support, lol) and i have the same damn problem. i uninstalled hoi2, re-installed the thing and now i cant patch the damned thing at all. the patchers think i have 1.3 when i have the basic 1.0 on my machine... ive uninstalled it, nuked the hoi2 folder and done everything i could without touching the registry manually but the patchers still dont work. maybe someone from paradox could help i dunno cus im at a loss.

I've run win 64 for almost a year now and I've had 2 problems total. Neither were major problems. I thought this was the 3rd. But it's not.

Well that is terrifically good news about the x64 and squares with what I have been reading.

Rule One: Own the Disk.
Rule Two: Remember rule one.

The ONDEMAND version does NOT use this patch, the ondemand patch will automatically be downloaded when you sign on, assuming it has been made available there yet.
