Pope excommunicated himself
My son was a bishop in my realm and was elected Pope. But the king of England become his controller whether their was no direct visible connection between our dynasties.
So I made some testing. I killed my son the pope with "F12 die". My other son an archbishop (bastard) becomes pope. Now I was the controller.
I forced my son to excommunicate himself and grapped the title "Pope" for only something around 30 Prestige. After that i declared war to him to try if it is possible to become pope by myself. I was a bit to weak but thats not important. Important is, that i should never be able to force the pope to excommunicate himself and beeing in war with him he should excommunicate me. But he does not. Instead, during the war, he gave another bastard son of mine the title of Archbishop.
