Not sure if a bug or not, but when doing the Dvar quests I got the sneak past quest first. Problem was Junkyard King attacked me. Apparently his move range was farther than my vision range+backing up. I was planning to throw on the cloaker and sneak past while my stack did some clean up work in the area(lots of pickups). That did not work out. Though he wasn't tough to kill at least.

The problem is the 2nd Dvar the one that gives you the Blast. He tells me to go kill it. It is already dead. Where do I go from here? Should I restart and do it right? Or is the quest just not important? Etc.

As for why I got the Blast so late compared to the other Dvar's quest. He wouldn't give me open boarders and that spawn never once left his boarders. So I ended up waiting until I could trade for open boarders. Though in the end I just settled for trading CB. Guy tried to rob me so I figure violating his boarders was a fair trade.
Firstly, sadly so far, cloacking does not work against the AI. I do hope they fix this in the future.
Second - you either do one Dvar quest and kill the king, or you infiltrate his lair. Accomplishing either fails the other, as the end result is always the other Dvar stealing the price from before your nose. The B.L.A.S.T. actually kills him in one shot, it is indeed that powerful against him as the game hints. If you want too explore the place instead, just lure him away with a fast army. Clicking on his stack shows in red how far he can move each turn. Don't use the cloaking, it does not work and slows you down.

And I and several others have had AI take fights they wouldn’t if they’d seen the cloaked things.

You do know cloaks don’t work on things right next to you right?

There is a thread about cloaking and if I wasn’t on phone I’d see about linking

Okay. I need to test this then. Because I have several times sent out cloaked Penguins on marine scouting and the wildlife, without exception, found and killed them.
Trust me I know about the adjacent detection rule. I have been playing AoW since the very first game, where the best strategy was to take a few heroes and sneak them right to the enemy capital... :D

If cloaking works then why does the AI move its forces to the opposite end of their territory when I send a cloaked stack that way. When I move the cloak stack away from the territory, the AI again moves back to the other end.

I have watched the AI and it definitely does respond to the movements of cloaked stacks.

there are at LEAST two ways for the AI to see your cloaked stacks running around in their own territory, also Monitors are detectors(from the strat op). those two ways, off the top of my head and away from my computer, is being Syndicate(racial structure gives op def and true sight) and the third Power Exploitation building.

But also I'd ask if you are absolutely sure they didn't have a task for that stack over on the other side.

Did you move through city sectors that has an energy sector? Because if I recall correctly, one of the special upgrades that people can build in energy sector gives true vision to the city inside it's sector. Cuz if it is why, then AI could remembered it saw those cloaked units and sent units to track down their last known path and found your stealthed units?

No. I captured all those cities, she never got to even research Energy Exploitation II that'd grant that.
Also, the second one was me capturing (via the Amazon operation) one of those Penguins who had the Assembly Cloaking Implants built in. I sent it out to sea to pick up resources, got immediately attacked by Chelus and Octowhale armies. Not accidentally running into them, they homed in on it like a beacon, sometimes from 2 turns away.
Sadly this makes the Mirage and all those Syndicate mods and unit skills all but useless, unless you play multiplayer.
I do hope they can restore this to work properly. I mean, it sure worked fine in AoW3 and 1. It was only 2 where it did not work.

Ethorin, you can very easily test this as I see you like Syndicate (I have not played it much yet). Just put a few Runners together (2-3), send them into the enemy's territory, or near marauders. See if they attack them right away. Or better yet, just send multiple armies of 1 each.

Hmm, I'm not sure then. You'll need to nag the devs to find out. I'm not very known for stealth. After all in that early vanguard campaign where syndicate asked me to be sneaky about it.. I stomped my way there with three full armies full of troopers and a hero thinking it was stealthy enough. lol Syndicate was like, i told u to be discreet, and I was like, this is me being discreet! I didn't bring any machines.
