Problems with byzantine emperor's traits

I am playing as the Byzantine emperor. When the pope called for crusade, I got got no problems, just like it's supposed to be. So far everything's all right. But then, after some years, I get a personal call from the pope to go on crusade! Since I would get a loss of piety that I couldn't afford, I said yes, and now the emperor has a crusader trait, but I can't see that it has any effect, even not when I crusade. But the pope shouldn't do this to me, who is orthodox, right? :p

Later, I get a message from the pope, demanding that I change my religious laws from regal supremacy to church supremacy! First of all, the pope shouldn't do this to me, an orthodox, and second: in the orthodox church, the emperor WAS the equalent to the pope, so this can't be right. I chose to not obey btw, and now the emperor is excommunicated... Not that I have seen any problems yet, but this happened right before I exited the game last night, so I might have missed something because of tiredness... ;)

Just checked: The excommunicated trait have no effect on my vassals' loyalty at least.

I'd say this is more of a problem with Orthodox religious events in general. It would be helpfull if you folks could come up with a list of of events that should be Catholic only.

Papal and crusader events happen to Orthodox

The events from papal_events.txt and crusader_events.txt should have trigger conditions to only happen to Catholic rulers. Otherwise you can get the Pope demanding that Orthodox rulers revoke lay investiture, giving them indulgences, calling them on crusades, etc.

It happened to my King of Nubia (funny game till now!): the pope asked for revoking lay investitures, and I answered no...the pope excommunicated me. The same happened to the byzantine emperor, since they had regal supremacy, and aftewards when I checked again it was Church supremacy...probably they answered yes to the same request which I said no to.
The power of the pope is clearly unstoppable

It happened to me, too.

So, has it been officially reported as a bug?

On a realated note, the Orthodox world shouldn't get the vision from god making the leader a crusader, since AFAIK the crusader trait is meaningless for them.
