My single courtiers aren't listed for marriage?

Okay I've got a wierd bug.

Suddenly when I go to propose a marriage with another court (or even my own court), it goes to the "who do you want to marry away" stage. No one in my court is available to be selected, even though quite a few people in my court are single, or both genders. As a result I can't marry anyone.

I have a Jan 17, 1066 savegame as the Duchy of Champagne. It's reproducible. Just a few days before several people were listed as being able to marry. Perhaps (and I'm just speculating) the problem happened when I married two people within my own court (the Duke's sister and another courtier). I think that's the last thing I did before people weren't available for marriage.

Where can I send the savegame?

p.s. I've beta'd both Vicky and HOI - do you guys need a few more betas now that the game has come out? I miss being able to log bug directly...

Can you still marry people of your own dynasty? 1.01 took away the ability to marry away non-family courtiers. You would have been able to select them to marry your sister (as she is a member of your family), but not when you are trying to marry them outside your court...

There is a bug report about this that Havard mod-jacked into the GD since he misinterpreted the report.

1) Marrying rules were changes in 1.01
2) GUI behavior in regards to whether you can try to marry is still behaving based on 1.00 rules.

That is, it's a minor bug...

[damn, now I've got to figure out how to update the bug list... :D]

With respect SM, I don't think that's it.

To answer Demetrios' question, I have two perfectly valid members of my court that I should be able to marry. Yet even if I go to the marriage screen for my own court no one is able to be selected (for the first person to marry). Same goes for any other foreign court.

I have a savegame if you're interested. Just tell me the address to send it to...

Phhp...

I finally process a bug onto the bug list and I'm wrong? Sorry, the process is already rolling... :D

OK, send me the save (I'll PM you) and I'll restore the thread title and such.

[note to self: must get BB into the beta so he can report bugs directly...]

A little more info on this bug, since I replicated it again in a different game.

Again, playing as the Duchy of Champagne. I propose marriage between my first son and Adelais de Ponthieu, of the French King's court. I did this in my last game as well.

The marriage is turned down. But somehow Adelais is in my court? And again, if I try and marry anyone else no one from my court is selectable as being "marriable".

I have another savegame if interested.

Why did this get listed as "feedback"? It's a bug. I can not offer marriage, despite having people in my court (like my son) who are eligible to be married.

*beats head against wall*

Got the save BB, but haven't had a chance to look at it. Sorry.

Feedback = we are looking for more information.

Can you only marry away people with the same lastname as yourself? If it is so, im about to get reeaaaally pissed off. I am not a relative with that Andronikus, he came from nowhere 5 years ago. But i am relative with the next successor to the throne of England. He is my grandson and he lives at MY court. I should be able to marry him away as i please. But i cant because of this? Noo waaay. Just cause his father happend to have another lastname.. oh shits.. it should be REAL relatives not people made up.

And besides i still got 2 many people in my court for my own good. Its such an population boom in Europe and i cant handle it, make people less reproductive. Too many children for the courtiers of Europe as of now!

Can't marry the Prince of Kiev

I think this relates to a bug I listed a while ago.

Started playing as the Principality of Kiev in 1066. The Prince (Iviaslav?)'s wife is dead. I can hit the "propose marriage" button, but no one is listed. Including the Prince himself...

I think the problem extends beyond Kiev, but damned if I can figure out exactly what it is.

That is WAD

Not the issue of this thread, actually if you couldn't make more marriages this would even be helped
:)

Could you change the title? Since most courtiers aren't able to be married anyways, it isn't entirely accurate.

I'd appreciate it if someone could confirm the bug with Kiev. Just start a game, and try to marry the prince.

Started the game as Kiev with ver. 1.02. When you start the game you don't have any courtiers and have to wait a few days for them to materialize. Could be a problem if you don't wait long enough. As soon as my courtiers appeared I was asked a marriage proposal for one of my made up courtiers from Boris the count of Uglich. I was able to ask select the Prince Svyatopolk the son and arrange a marriage with the 4 available women from the principality of Galich. So works both ways.

Granted I only let like a month pass but I was also unable to marry him(fired up a game just now to try), that is until I used "die" on his already dead wife, he instantly showed up after that.

I don't believe his son is the problem bernie303, try the father with the (un)dead wife :D

I understand there is a problem, but I can't really get it.

How would you summarized it in a clear and concise manner in a new title for the thread, so that I can mark this one as a bug ? :D
