2.2 update tech question

I have downloaded EUR gold from direct2drive, installed to My Documents>My Games>EUR-Gold on Windows XP.

Problem is I get the 'Vae Victus is not installed' when trying to run 2.2 patch. Came across the regedit fix, but cannot find the game in regedit due to its location in My Documents. btw this is a shared computer and i cannot re-install the game outside my documents. Does anyone know where I can find it in regedit?

Open regedit and search for rome.


Take backup of regedit before doing any change.

Ah, search function - so simple. Gracias.

Unfortunately, however, changing the value to 2.0 did not work. It still informs me that Vae Victis is not installed. Any other ideas?

Download a fresh copy of 2.2, it no longer has this bug.

I've got the same problem - I purchased gold, have previously loaded 2.2 patch, now trying to fix a problem by reinstalling 2.2 and get the same error (vv not loaded)

In last 10 min, I followed the links on the main Rome page, downloaded 2.2 again and tried to load and got the error again saying I don't have vv loaded. Where is the updated file you refer to?
