I don't have or plan on getting reapers due so not sure if I should just keep playing 2.4.5 ck2 plus

When I first played 2.6 vanilla I loved how fast it was and was looking forward for the ck2 plus update but 2.6 ck2+ isn't any near as fast as the new vanilla is :(

Of course it isn't as fast, there are more provinces, characters, events...

NO WAY?!!!

And here I thought adding stuff would make it faster.... damn.

In all seriousnes though, it's about 30% faster than the previous version.

If you're expecting it to be as fast as vanilla, your expectations are out of whack.

Compare it to 2.52 CK2+, not to 2.61 vanilla.

If all you want out of a game is blazing speed, vanilla's right there waiting for you.

The newest patch has provided a frankly ridiculous speed boost. I wouldn't know about vanilla since I haven't touched it in ages, the difference the patch has made within mods is very noticeable though. Could be your machine is terrible, or your perception of the speed boost (or lack thereof) is biased. I have yet to see another person share your opinion, everyone else says the patch has made noticeable improvements, even in resource heavy mods.

I'm very happy with the added provinces. Two province duchies are unbelievably annoying, and India is out of diplomatic range from Brittania, anyway.

There's like..... ~270mb more worth of scripts and assets running? Yup it's slower than vanilla.

Not really, most of the mod size are image files which replace vanilla files of the same or similar size.

As stated before, the reason why it's slower is that there are more characters in-game, more decisions and more events.
