Fresh game on version 2.7.2, did not even make year 2300 before got planet modifier desync. It happened just after friend took "flesh is weak" perk. 2 player only. huge galaxy.

Sad that cant even finish a multiplayer game anymore.

I had a similar problem when playing multiplayer and I took the same ascension perk. It caused desyncs in our game. I know it's not ideal, but it might be best to avoid those perks for now. It has also been suggested that you should load the multiplayer save up in single player, let it tick for a bit, then save, and re-host the save in multiplayer. I'd love to know if that helps fix the out of sync issues.

Hi

I asked my friend who was hosting to try moving it on in single player for a few months but it made no difference.

in our previous game I took thy flesh is weak and it did not crash so maybe it’s dependent on host choosing it.

either way this game May as well be single player now as multiplayer is too unstable to play and you can’t finish the games.

The only thing left to try is smaller galaxies and less races.

My game with friends desynced when the L-cluster was opened and never recovered. It also desynced when one of us took the psionic ascension path. Basically the game seems to struggle with sudden big data changes late in the game.

I had another game that just crashed with me friend around 2375 on large galaxy this time. this time it was POP, Planet. Ship desync. We are calling time on multiplayer now, 6 games, none of them finished since last year. Never had this many desyncs on older versions of the game. Paradox really need to fix this issue.

Same, our newest game desynced permanently around 2375 as well. We just keep playing until the victory date (2400) and periodically reload when the desync gets bad enough that it stops working. So far we had a different endgame crisis appear for different players, and their respective crises remain in the situation logs of the different players even after reloading. But what can you do, it's the only way to keep playing since it desyncs instantly on each reload.

We cannot even reload after desync, as soon as we load we get one day further and then de sync. It always seems to happen when we try to restart the game. Its a shame because our games are just getting to the interesting part of prob going to war with each other and then it dies. Hopefully a long Warhammer 2 Co-op campaign can keep us satisfied until this issue is resolved.

I just encountered a permanent desync on a multiplayer game on 2.7.2 as well. I've actually never been able to finish a game because of desyncs. This is over the course of 4 years. I don't think Paradox cares about fixing this. The year is 2400, and it craps out on July 1st 2400.

Seriously Paradox... How is this still an issue after 4 years????

+2

Me and my friend can't finish any multiplayer game either, just when the MP games start to get interesting the de-syncs start -

in 2.7.2 steam edition etc.

Tried every which way to make it work but always desyncs , we'd be up to game 10 now - 11 if we started another, tried to resume our save tonight with an instance desync - spent 2 hours trying to make it work but no joy (even running after a few months in single player and re-joining later failed.... )

Please Paradox - fix this :D

All the same as everyone else. Doesnt matter what you do, small, large, many, few, psionic, robot, it all ends in a game breaking desync. It's such a shame because I love stellaris, but I have never finished a single multiplayer game, despite trying 10-15 different play throughs. Finally left a negative review on steam, you all should do the same

2.8.0 should fix a lot of them, yes. From our statistics it's the stablest MP release in a long time.

Tried to do a multiplayer with a friend 3 times since patch. Game desynch with pop modifiers. (or whatever). We tried a mix of medium and large galaxy and different races. It just come to a point where it will desynch and we left with the feeling of wasted a lot of time. Maybe it would be better to work on a way to get the game back in sync again rather than seemingly spend fruitless time hunt down reasons why it happen.

2.8 Still getting de-syncs, this time it's with country modifiers after loading a save and one month passes.

It doesn't matter which player hosts the game, the de-sync always occurs after one month has passed.

so still unable to play a multiplayer game all the way through due to de-syncs , same as 2.7.2 :(

This is with 2.8 latest patch as of the date of this post
