I just got EU2 (about an hour ago) and I wanted to play some with my friend but there are so many nw countries and the situations are much different. A good EU1 game I remember was of me Austria and he was France. That wont work as well in EU2 as France is much smaller to start and they wont interact.
My question for all you is what do you think is 2 good countries that are descently sized (not Cologne and Kleves) and work together.

Thanks

For Cooperative play:
Bengal & Delhi (Fight outwards back to back)
Aaragon & England ( carve up France together)

For Competative play:
~Turks & Austrians (Start off small expand towards each other)
~Muscovy & Sweden (Start off powerful but surrounded and move to confront each other)
~For a long competative game: France vs. Castille.

Thanks, I never even considered Bengal and Delhi.
Does Aragon start vassalized by Castille? Are they supposed to annex Castille (eventually)?
Is Aragon going to colonize the new world or is that for Castille?

Thanks for your help.

I don't belive Aaragon starts out vassalized, but there is an event that might 'force' that to happen. The wedding of Catherine or sumthin'.

To become 'Spain" (which has the best chance for colonizing the New World) You need to control Madrid... so essentially that means that if Castille exists, no one else can become Spain (as Madrid is their capital)... so for a long game play Castille, but for an early, or for a very ambitious long game play Aaragon.

Russia versus Austria (starting in 1492 to make each a little stronger) is also good. Together they can beat on the Poles for the most part, and also stem the Turkish tide and rival against each other as well. Russia starts slow, but it grows steadily as time goes on if played reasonably well. If you want exploration/colonization competition, pick Spain and England.
