1: In HoI2 I usually built 3 garrisons to defend my islands and coasts, but I hear a lot of people uses Inf+Mil combinations instead. What is optimal?

2: As Italy, how am I supposed to get my cores on France as I have to give them back after Vichy is created?

In IC Garnision have taken steroids so take those.

Great, thanks.

Anybody knows how to handle the Vichy problem? It feels pretty pointless attacking them at all if I just have to leave stuff back...

Edit the event.
You could try to get them to give it back via the diplomacy menu, but it is quite arcane to me if and when this works.

In regards to Vichy just refuse to remove your troops from Vichy's territory. In my game it is late 1940 and Vichy France has been created. Italy apparently has occupied some of their territory and not given it up.

Ummm...the event kindly removes your troops for you. No choice involved in any of my games.

I know crazy isn't it? But that is what is going on. But add in a Nationalist Spain that is allied with Germany. GB losing Gibrarter to Spain, Malta, and the Suez Canal to Italy. Things are pretty screwy. Now the Med is Mussolini's swimming pool. If Italy has left their territory, I don't know...but anything is possible. Just look up ^
