Yes, in 1.02 the muslim Palmyra is playable.
This happens because the entry for a christian Palmyra in the .eug is still alive (from the v1.01), although the culture-religion for 'em is reworked in 1.02.
Someone forgot to delete the entry in the .eug for the 1.02 patch. Just this.
Yes, I discovered this as well, 1066 scenario, as "Duchy" of Palmyra...I ended up as an emir with Orthodox Greek culture in both provinces (Palmyra and Aleppo) but within the first year there was a conversion event which changed Palmyra to Muslim Arab. I couldn't create titles or marry anyone off.
On a side note, I remember someone saying in an early CK interview that Muslims and Pagans wouldn't be playable at the beginning, but then he left a little ellipsis...will the ability to play as Muslim or Pagan provinces eventually be added to the game as an enhancement?
