v1.02 - viewing battles or sieges causes CTD

Panvision version - 1.02 patch
Windows 98/XP (have a seperate partition for both OS types)
AMD MMX 1.2GHz
256MB RAM
2.5G free hard drive space
NVIDIA GeForce4 Ti 4200 with AGP8X, 127.5 MB memory,
driver version 4.14.0010.5664
No sound card installed
DirectX version 9.00a

This is a new problem for me with the 1.02 patch, but it happens under any instance. When an army of mine engages another, or my army begins a siege upon an enemy province I experience no problem...however, when I click on the unit during the battle or the province during the siege to see how it's all going I immediately CTD. I experience no crash when I highlight the units...only when they engage an enemy. Problem exists on both OS types. Not really sure what's going on, but everything is quite playable outside of this issue.

Also...unstalled and reinstalled/repatched, but no change.

Let's move you to the bug forum since this is repeatable crash.

The same problem, a Dell 933MHz PIII, 512 RAM, and XP. Mail-ordered CK.
Tried to reinstall, restart computer, with no help.

Its well repeatable, CTD just after the melee begins.
The last two lines in history is that the army arrived and begin to fight.

I am back to playing 1.01.

I'm just playing around it. It's a pretty annoying bug, but the overall improvements in 1.02 outweigh my inability to see the battles...afterall if you hover your mouse over the armies you can see the numbers count down...but you can't retreat  .

Still...I'll play around it for a while until I can figure out how to fix it.

All new, pure 1.02 games?

/F

Yep. I haven't bothered loading old games...I really don't have any that I wasn't finished with.

Have others had this problem?

Not really repeatable (I'm sure it is, I just don't know WHEN...)

but I have had this happen. My only CTDs since 1.02 installed
