285) Feedback: Rebel pappal controller cause games CTD ?

I know this should be kept in one thread, but I'll post it anyhow in a seperate thread to highlight it =

1) I've stumbled again on a bundle of CTD save games. However, this time I can load them up and only seconds after loading the CTD happens. There's one constant factor in this bundle of corrupted savegames =

a screen pops up after loading - saying =

"Alv king of rebels is now new papal controller",

when I click the rebel shield, the papal states flashes up and the leader is black. Pausing or not pausing doesn't matter for the time for CTD (5-10 seconds), but I can actually play some days and it seems the rebel king is not replaced by a new pope,

The interesting thing is that in 5 successive corrupted save games the "Alv king of rebels ..." popped up before CTD (after 5-10 sec's),

Even more interesting = the oldest "good" save game doesn't have the "Alv rebel king ..." pop up screen. So there's a link somehow between the CTD and the papal states and the rebel king Alv,

2) In a normal game - no CTD - I saw the following in my ledger =

"april 10 1168 Walter pope of papal states has passed and the curia has elected Jacques bishop of Faro as the new pope."
"Alv king of rebels is now papal controller"

fyi Jacques is of my house and Faro is in Southern Spain formerly a muslim province,

The reason I give this second point is not that this ledger text cause me to crash, but simply because this Alv king of rebels - again - is popping up,

Can you download Horragoth's external ledger. Use that to search after Alv. I'll bet he is the oldest person in the game. All with the rebe tags is has a birt date off 00000000 Maybe this is why you have a CTD or maybe this is WAD?

I once had a game that acted a bit like that. Try and set game speed to VERY SLOW. It might have something to to with the amount of information at one single point that your computer can't handle. What ever the reason, just try it out

Seems that Papal elections cause nasty CTDs.

has a negative id value = -3, other values are zero,

when I click on him - he turns out to be me!!!!

really, there's a link to my dynasty leader,

after a few seconds the game crashes,

I don't find the papal states anymore on the map,

It seems the rebel king takes control of the papal states and the papal states isn't recreated and the game crashes,

there has to be a link between the CTD and the papal states and the rebel king,

If a bishops dies, the replacement is taken from the court of the papal controller. If the papal controller don’t have any court, where will the bishops come from?

I think that’s the reason why your game is crashing.

Is that still happening in 1.02 ? Would you have a save with a reproducible CTD ?
