EDIT: I tried it out. Conclusions:

You have huge loads of titles, which is very likely the cause of the CTD.

This is also most likely a performance problem, because my computer CTD:ed on the fourth courtier in the first go-through and my computer is old and crappy. Possibly someone with a high-end machine could go through it more than those two runs you did.

I'll report this along.

PS. Grosshaus (or any other moderator with moderator powers here), could you rename this thread into something more appropriate, like "CTD with vast amounts of titles"?

Nah, doesn't really matter as long as Johan has been given a save that has been verified to crash.

Could be. I did not have this problem back in 1.04a, though, and I had about the same number of titles in a King of England game.

Sometimes it could be the first courtier, on my machine, but it is also relatively old and crappy.

Yay, reproduced!

It seems odd that the crash would come when clicking on a courtier (with no titles) rather than on the liege, then?

You can't reproduce this with a duke that has just a few titles, can you? ;)

Well, seriously, my hard disk started to work feverishly when I clicked on the duke and the pace only increased when I clicked a courtier and then again duke, so I suppose there comes some data processing overload or something.

[8 Apr] continuation and slightly more detail

Still happening - it looks like the fun begins at about 50 titles (30 king, 10 duke, 10 county).

Would running under debug and generating this crash be useful?

Please compress (rar preferred) and e-mail that save (assuming you still have it) to me as soon as is convenient. Please include instructions on what I will need to do to reproduce the crash.

Send to: chris.stone at rogers.com

Thanks!

Will do. The original save from the Feb 3. beta is still available at http://bellsouthpwp.net/u/l/ulvester/autosave.zip

I was just able to reproduce this with the Apr. 8 beta recently (out of town this weekend or I would have updated).

I will try to get an autosave that fails with the Apr. 15 beta, which I haven't downloaded yet, and then I will link that as well.

For the original save: "If I load this autosave, click the portrait of the Duke of Apulia, and then click on a courtier's face, then back to the Duke, then another courtier, etc., I get a CTD before I have gone through the entire court twice (although not always on the same courtier)."

For the answer of "why are you doing something like that", the answer is "trying to figure out which courtiers to give land and which to give positions to."

Got it, thanks. I'll test tonight and see what I can find out about the crash.

I was unable to reproduce the crash under DEBUG using the 4/15 beta, although I can reproduce it if not under DEBUG. Don't know if I mentioned it, but the game has always been paused when I've generated this crash.

I am able to reproduce this, both under regular and under debug. Now to see if we can figure out why...

Interestingly, if I take the save file and edit it down until the Duke of Apulia only has that title and his counties, I still get the crash. So I guess the answer is "sort of."

That's quite interesting find, so it might be caused something else than the titles...
