coutier that doesn't want to be advisor

I just played a game where I multiple times tried to appoint
one of my coutiers to advisor (the same person every time).
However every time he "lost" his title after a number of days (less than a month if I remember correctly).

It was just this coutier, I had no problems with any other in my court.

Do you remember if you gained this courtier from a marriage? Sometimes even though they show up in your court they think they are still advisors in their old court. I had a similar experience a while back but I have not been able to reproduce it.

I just loaded up the game in question, and yes the guy just won't stay in office
I tried all advisor position (save dis. bishop) and after about 28 days he quits his job.

I can send the savefile if it has interest.
