Unbeatable muslim & display problem

In the game I play, the muslim took control of Roma, which remains Italian and Catholic. I've declared war to the sheikdom of Syracusa, owner of Roma.
But after having beaten its armies in Roma, my troops do nothing : they don't even try to siege the city in order to take control of it. It's a sheikdom : I can't claim, but I thought I could take Roma back to Christiandom !

Another thing is the display of armories : it is surrounded by blue and purple lines...

Happened to me as well (I dont seem to be too lucky with my games). DOWed the independant Sheikdom of Tobruk, took a long journey to North Africa and was'nt able to lay siege upon their province. The army just stood there and wasted my money.

Did you check that you were still at war when your troops arrived ? I often can't tell a muslim COA from another, and of course being at war with a liege does not bring you at war with his vassals (same realm color). A nasty emir could even grant a title while your troops are on their way, just to spite you

Or even create a Catholic vassal to spite you more

Few times after, I retempted the operation, and it worked... weird...

Army doesn't start siege

During crusade i've delared war on the sheikdom of palermo and send my troops to their destination. On their way i've got the event that one military leader dies and then my main character dies too. So their successors take their places. Now as they arrive at their destination they won't start any siege.
I've tried it in different provinces. Moved them in another province and back, but no siege!
Perhaps it's because the game can't handle the change of military leaders?

Were mercenaries involved? There is a known bug about them and sieges.

No! No mercenaries, only regular troops!
