Islamic French Knights

Not a major bug if at all, but as Leon a couple of the Muslim armies turned up wearing French armour i.e. the French soldier sprite.

Same happened to a Byzantine regiment I mobilised and behold the Seljuk Sultan had also been shopping in Paris for his armour, or is it a reflection that they are now in a higher level of plate armour.

The army sprite is based on the culture of the province in which they are raised and nothing else as far as I remember. I.e. all Greek provinces get the Byzantine soldier, all French get the French knight, all Arab get the Saracen.

Could you verify where these armies were coming from, please ?

Knowing that Muslims have a tendency to go sometimes further than Poitiers in CK, I wouldn't be surprise to learn they grab a couple of French culture provinces and use their host against you. :D

Thanks for reporting,
I am waiting for your feedback to decide what to do with this bug :)

Can't remember exactly where the Spanish Muslims came from, but I think it was from Emirate of Cordoba in about 1120.

The Byzantine army was from Aleppo or Palmyra around 1100, I'd conquered them about 1090.

The Seljuk army was the Sultan and a core province regt. pretty sure it was Qom again time 1100. I've since conquered them so tonight if I get chance I'll look roun Byzantium and see if any un mobilized regts. are French sprite

Year 1103 Byzantine Empire.

Checked all provinces and when un-mobilised regts were correct culture Muslim, Byzantine and Turkish etc.
Mobilised the Empire and Frankish sprite appeared Bizerte, Assas, Mahdia, Tel Bashir and Trapani also Syracuse got Italian sprite.

1084 as Leon Cordoba and Valencia went to war and armies of Castellan and Toledo used Frankish sprite not Muslim.

Hope this helps.
