I can't be the papal controler =(

That happened 3 times...

First My diocesse bishop became the pope and "olav king of rebels" became the new pope controler

the second time, my families bishop became the pope and again "olav king of rebels" became the new pope controler

The third and final time "olav king of rebels" became the new pope controler when my diocesse-bishop became the pope

In all this cases they were my vassals and/or family members... I was playing as portugal in the 1066 scenario with 1.01

Sigvard, King of the rebels?

A new papal controller just appeared, the box said that Sigvard, King of the Rebels, was the new papal controller, when I clicked the shield it zoomed to Denmark, and when pressing the portrait my oldest daughter appeared? wtf?

its like in crouching tiger, hidden dragon.
a noble daughter hiding her extensive abilities and contacts :D

would be nice if she shared her income from thieves guilds with daddy, tho.. :D

I also had one of these strange papal controller things happen. Playing as king of Sweden, my younger brother was my vassal as bishop of Stettin and two of its neighbouring provinces. He is elected pope - and the new papal controller is the king of Bohemia, who is not related at all to my dynasty. The thing is that my dear brother, the bishop, had a bastard son (which did not prevent him from becoming pope... :p ). The son would have belonged to his fathers court, perhaps that messes things up?

(Another thing is that my brother retained his bishopric, so now it is part of the papal demesne, which seems unhistorical - the Papal States would end up all over Europe. OTOH Rome is a part of the Swedish royal demesne. :D .)

It seems to me that the first papal controller chosen during the game progress is determined as intended, but then, as long as he lives, he remains in control even if he has no connection to the new pope.

Yes, you are right. In my game as duke of Temes, in the 1066 scenario, one of my sons (who had a bishopric, and was my vassal) was elected pope, and the pope controller remained the damned bastard, king of England...

OK, there is quite a number of fixes in 1.03, about the pape and papal controller, but I have not seen evidence that the king of rebel could not be the papal controller anymore.

So I will use this thread to track just that issue: the king of rebel should not be the papal controller, OK ?

Any other issue about the papal controller (or the pope), please, before reporting them as bugs,

- verify first that the bug doesn't exist already in the buglist OR in the forum (using the Search function).

- only report one bug by thread.

- Use a meaningful thread title (short summary)

- CTD bug needs to be reproducible, and a save available for the moderators to transmit to Paradox.

Thanks, :)
