Hi folks, I'm new to CK2plus and have been greatly enjoying it so far, especially the new 1000 start date.

Many people seem to agree that 769 (and related Charlemagne features) is very broken and ahistorical, and I was wondering if this mod did anything to fix the variety of issues with that start. The lack of historical knowledge obviously can't be fixed, but a lot of balance could probably be done.

Just wondering if that was ever changed for this mod.
If not I think I'll just turn off the Charlemagne DLC once and for all. :p

Hm... In fact with CK2+ the invasion of saxony is more difficult (because Charlemagne can be capture in a battle, and if he won the pagan ducal lord keep them holding, and it's more difficult in CK2+ to convert vassals), the saxons have them own pagan religion, and I know that for Widukind it's different from the Vanilla, but I don't understand how it work, because I never saw a saxon rebellion like in vanilla, there is just Widukind who pop in a random court near of Saxony with many claims on Saxony and it's duchy, and sometime I see that he earn one of the saxon duchy for a reason that I don't understand and that's all.
Also, the conflict between Constantinople and Roma, and Carolingian Empire and Byzantine Empire will really lower the MA of the Chalcedonian Faith. Also, Abassid Caliphate is less stable, because it will be hard to convert you're unfaithul vassal, you have a great risk of revolt, and after the death of the first calife of the start, it will be very hard for the AI :)

The issues I've noticed with the AI all revolve around how they handle the peasant/religious/liberation revolts. The AI always seems to choose THE WORST OPTION possible; aka rank that tyranny through the roof. I've had at least 2 (maybe 3) games where I was playing a loyal vassal and within the course of 12 months my "AI opinion" went from +100 to -50+; all because of having a -70 tyranny modifier among other things.

I've also noticed that it seems if you deal with liberation revolts via tyranny you ALSO get a corresponding lvl of % threat added (typically around 10-12%, aka a moderate duchy holy war). The AI can barley handle running a kingdom (and outside the Byzantine Empire which seems to be "stable" compared to the Carolingian/Abbasid) and can't run a multi vassal culture empire. The Abbasid empire typically fractures within the first century and a half, if it doesn't fracture its several successive "Anarchy at Bahgdad" rulers; while I've seem at least 2, maybe even 3, times where Karl Karling hasn't even formed his empire before hes had massive independence revolts. Most games I play the Carolingian empires falls around 950AD+.

I've also convinced myself the AI can't handle adventurer stacks. I've had countless games where Rollo pops up with 90k+ troops, and the AI just cant handle that. Adventurer stacks have actually gotten so annoying I intend to at least make them rare, most likely turned off. Having a 30-50k+ (I'm looking at you AVAR culture...) stack pop up every 4-6 years is just ridiculous.
