create title of Flanders

in the 1066 scenario I start out as county of Brugge, I see in the "grant title" section that you can become Duchy of Flanders. Ok - that's nice,

a.s.a.p. I grab the title of count of Gent from the HRE,

I succeed but now It seems impossible now to select the Duchy of Flanders from the "create" list,

Did you switch Brugge for Gent or do you have both? What where the reqs for Duchy of Flanders?

yes I switched,

Ok, then I'm guessing Brugge is a req for Flanders title but not Gent, but why would you have switched then.. hmmm..

/F

because Gent has more wealth?

it's all part of my demesne, so I should still have the title of count of Brugge,

The fact that the pool of Provinces to create or usurb the title of Duke of Flanders is misplaced is known in the beta team. We'll see if we can get it fixed to get it fixed.

magdat, you are totally right. The pool includes Loon, Breda and Zeeland,

this is somewhat weird because I would say it should be Brugge, Ypres, Artois for sure - then if you want you can ad Gent and Zeeland (the 2 last where imperial loans to Flanders, but can be deleted from the list), please note that Flanders should start with Artois as a vassal - as a Duchy,

in my current Brugge game I have a court member with gigantic claims in the Northern Netherlands, the only problem is that he's far away from my bloodline, but I hope to make him my vassal some day and then go elected,

that's how the manual says heh? Vassals can become the heir, no direct bloodline needed,

I am a bit confused. Magdat has mentioned that the title provinces are fecked up, and that this is a known issue.

But, is there an issue with seeing some title, but not being able to take it? Probably not, but I'm just checking...

state machine, you are rght,

it was indeed so that the duke of lorraine had grabbed the title of Flanders,

the only thing open for discussion here is the situation of the Duchy of Flanders,
