i have to say this is a great game and i can't stop playing. i can't wait for ck2.
one story from my game sums up how immersive it can be.
i'm william the conqueror, and my second son richard, comes of age. since i need sourtiers with good stats, i get him and old (47) wife. "sorry rick:)", i tell him," just lie back and think of england" well i guess he wasn't happy, but i give him a count title then a duchy. fasy forward 10 yrs. he now has the better king stats, but no hiers. so i do him a favor and assassinate his wife, so he can find a young one to have kids with. unfortunately, i'm discovered. well, he remarries within weeks to a nice young girl, when i get a notice that someone from his duchy has killed my 4th son (rick's oldest step-brother). his loyalty was 100, our relations were +100, but i guess he decided that he still needed to pay me back. like it was ripped from a tarantino remake of the 'lion in winter'.
fluke? nope. for other reasons (my piety after being discovered was -99, and i was already a heretic) i decided to see if i could get away with it. i reloaded 3 times, was discovered 3 times, successful twice, and every time, rick hit me back. i think that was great.
anyhoo, here's a few questions you guys can answer so that this thread isn't just a waste of time . thanks:)

1. i use the dynastic glory to see how i'm doing, and it has some values it lists that i haven't seen in game , namely glory and chivalry,and was wondering what they do?.

2. does anyone have the relationship btwn your intrigue and how many counties you can have in your demesne? and does your spymaster's intr count with yours for the demesne size or only assassinations and such.

3 how long do truces last? i know its not the normal paradox 5 yrs. did i read somewhere that your truce is with the person for life or did i just make that up?

1) No idea

2) It depends on your title

Count = Intrigue*0.25
Duke = Intrigue*0.5
King = Intrigue*1
Byzantine Emperor (as primary title) = Intrigue*2

Your spymasters' intrigue has no effect on this

3) The truce lasts untill one of the rulers who signed the truce dies.

As for the assassination attempts ... when you are discovered the AI will retaliate immediately and target someone in your court (could even be your ruler). But other than that the Ai never attempts assassinations, except by events.

really? i've had a few 'death by suicide' events that i figured might be assassinations.

and that knowledge stilll doesn't take the shine off

Also remember that there is a badboy penalty for any discovered assassination attempt, amounting to 1 BB for non-rulers and 2 BB for rulers.
It might be that the discovered attempt raised your badboy score a bit too high.
