Pointing out before these suggestions that im actually really enjoying the game, there are just a few things that i feel could be.. better. These are all personal suggestions based on my own personal experiences.

An overhaul of animations in combat. I dont know what you guys thought when you made them, but some of them might aswell be standing in the buggy "T-formation" for all the good some animations do.

The amount of "interesting" buildings on the map are few and far between, even on the "many" setting when you create a planet. I read some reviews that doesnt even think dungeons exist, because they are so rare. "Many" should mean Many. The map-exploring has lost a certain something and although its still interesting to search for good sektors, its just not as fun as finding a mythical dungeon with some really crazy loot.

An overhaul of Hero abilities. Seriosuly, in AOW3 the heroes were there as a mean to make your army stronger, now they have like 4-5 abilities based on race and class, the rest are abilities that just boost their own fighting ability, making them into the strongest unit on the field by far, especially since you can upgrade them into the tier 2-3 special units by simply mounting said hero ontop of it, completely negating any reason to build said units when your hero can do their job and much much more, alone.

Other than that, gj. There is a real difference between races now and thats swell, however, a minor petpeeve is how little changes with the hidden tech, i mean, im fairly certain that most people will still run the same things on a race, wether they are promethian or xenoplague. (this is just my own personal assumption though.)

*edit; Since im blind and stupid and clearly missed that there were differences between the different races tech-units, i withdraw my immature suggestion.

*edit; Since i was unaware that F1 brings out the archive at parts where there is no button like in AoW3 im changing this suggestion to adding an option to the Archives to look through the different "tech-trees". Since its a hassle and a half to go through it compared to AoW3.

...I agree with the Imperial Arcgives thing... actually can we get that in the main menu like in AoW3? that said, I'm pretty sure the dungeon unkown reviews didn't play more than MAYBE 10 turns if they actually played with on many, or maybe they only ran into bronzes owned by an NPC faction? if they lost really fast?

The specific one i read through had almost 30 hours in game, he couldve been afking for all i know i guess, but i know from personal experience that they are extremely rare on some maps. When i think about it, on my current playthrough which is round 106 at his moment, ive only found ONE dungeon.

This isn't true, heroes in AoW3 could be immensely powerful, especially with crazy defense stacking and things like infinite retaliations. They could easily become the strongest unit in any battle. PF ones can get pretty powerful too, especially with high tier weapons but saying there's no reason to make units is gross exaggeration. Also mods make PF units quite a bit more powerful relative to heroes compared to AoW3.

And while on the subject of hidden tech, WHAT were you thinking, making ALL hidden tech units look exactly the same for all races?! SERIOUSLY?!

Vanguard/Amazon/DVAR respectively and even among units that are more similar visually there are often differences in terms of how their attacks or abilities work but you need to study them and read the tooltips.

Holy crap, i stand extremely corrected. i guess im either blind or stupid, cos i saw no difference between the Syndicate and Reasembly Echo walkers, admittedly those were the only techs i mixed races with, and i didnt think i saw a difference in the Archives and drew a conclusion from that, an immature one at that, clearly.

And regarding the heroes, sure - they could ofc become strong as F. The necromancer pops into my mind when im thinking about unkillable murdermachines. But there was alot of abilities that also boosted your troops. I cant be the only one that feel like theyve stripped the boosting passives alot with this installment? or am i being crazy here? Yes, the mods make up for alot of the missing abilities with the heroes, but i cant help the heroes just feeling so... bare. In AoW3, an army with heroes wouldnt be very strong, in this game 6 heroes in one group is disgustingly strong. to the point of being able to steamroll everything without thought at hard difficulty. Thats not right imo.

I haven't seen a max rank hero yet but there are already quite a few army empowering passives I've seen. Some of them do very much need mod support on the units to make them work but making all your units able to electrify enemies is pretty darn cool IMO
