Winter and spring 1936

Extensive construction of anti-air batteries and coastal forts. Not a single German province are left without anti-air batteries; The batteries are doubled and tripled in the industrial heartland, the Capital, the coastline from Wilhelmshafen to Kiel, and in the provinces bordering France, during the summer.

Excess coal are used to acquire oil, steel and rubber, mostly in a ratio of one to one, but also four to one with rubber after the world market dried up.

All production are directed against research and development, the rearming of the country is postponed until the summer.

The demand for Sudetenland is a grand bluff. Germany is outnumbered; A firm alliance between the western alliance, Great Britain and France, and the nations in the east, Poland and Czechoslovakia would be a sure defeat for Germany.

After two years of fighting and diplomacy, Europe are firmly under German control. Their production are significantly increased and their army likewise. Form here, we can imagine three different approaches and strategies.

1. South

Attack the Middle East and North-Africa, after annexing Turkey.

- Turkey and Iraq can be annexed and will add IC and resources, especially, oil

- A second front against Soviet, i.e. through Caucasus.

- The fall of the Middle East and North-Africa will make the Mediterranean an axis pond

- The British Mediterranean fleet will be crushed.

- Southern Europe will be safe for invasion and German and Italian divisions can be diverted.

- Malta, Crete and Cyprus will be captured.

- Convoys across the Mediterranean, supplying Vichy French and Italian troops in Africa, and bringing resources to Vichy French and Italian industry in Europe.

- Hopefully, Italian troops trapped in Ethiopia can be rescued.

2. West

- Prepare for an invasion of the British homeland in 1940

- The fall of Great Britain will mean a sure defeat for the western alliance

- Success is uncertain, the German navy and air force (summer 1939) are well behind their British counterparts.

2. East

- Prepare for an invasion of the Soviet in 1940

- The fall of Soviet will add significant to German production.

- The fall of Soviet will remove the communist threat against Germany.

- Success is uncertain, with the British still strong, the German army could be overstretched.

I, the supreme commander of the axis, support strongly the southern strategy. Unless the German High Command object (The Paradox Forum), I will continue this path.

At last, I think i managed to post a picture?

SOUTH!

Secure the Mediterranean, push thru the Sudan to Entebbe and the Belgian Congo (make sure the lands goes to you, not ITA) to get some rubber access. It won't be enough to meet your needs but any little bit that you don't need to convert from oil is helpful in keeping the economy healthy. Persia makes a good buffer between you in Iraq and British India, so stop with Iraq and Kuwait. And of course oil is always good.

Don't go WEST until the south is secure! Conquest (or major occupation) of Britain leads to rapid rise of US War Entry - better to face American landings in Iberia than in Sicily if possible. Personally I prefer building a good defensive position in the West (3+ Coastal Forts in all landing areas in W Europe) and then deal with Soviets before finishing off the British. And if you have DI, use it on the USA to keep it out of war as long as possible. If USA goes to war with Japan before Japan is in Axis let them duke it out and concetrate on either finishing off USSR or Britain, don't jump in if you don't need too (one of Hitler's biggest diplomatic mistakes).

There came a new patch, i'm reworking the AAR, making a new game following the same strategic principles, but i didn't work. Seems odd going back to an old patch, when a brand new one is out there.

Well, i played 1,05, but in 1,05c i can't do a campaign in Balkan anymore without risking war with the US. I still want to start the war after the Munich-agreement (Oct 38), but the only countries i can invade now, in 1,05c, seems like Latvia and Estonia, not much IC or resources there, but you counter at least a future Russian expansion there.
