Hello all,

In advance I want to say thanks to anyone for any information that can help me out.

Ok, here's the problem. I've edited and created a scenario based on Fantasia. I did this because my friends and I have found this to be the most stable environment for multiplayer games with lots of players. We've experienced no lag, I repeat no lag playing Fantasia, and have yet to be dropped.

Of course the problem is or was that there are only eight countries to choose from and they are extremely spread out. So I added 11 countries to the fray. One in North America, one in South America, one above China, one next to Mongolia, one in the Middle East, one in Saudi Arabia, one in Russia, two in Scandinavia, and two in Europe.

I made the 6 European/Scandinavian countries majors with three provinces each. The rest of the countries scattered about the world I gave four provinces and boosted their tech. My plan is to keep those who start in Europe in Europe, where the big wars will rage.

OK the problem is After creating all these countries, I noticed while using the "political map", that the provinces showed up as orange. The original countries still had their unique colors but all the ones I added are now orange. A minor problem, but still frustrating when trying to determine your lands from a foes using the political map. One more thing, I noticed that when looking at the trade centers after clicking the trade button they all have unique colors for the different trade zones, and there are now 19 of those ;)....

So if you know what file or files I need to use to correct this I would be greatly appreciative.

Speculating...

It seems the colors used on the diplomatic map (if that is what you are talking about), are hardcoded to the country tags used. You could experiment with your scenario by using different tags. That brings up different risks as a few tags have special behavior associated with them. I'm sure someone else can give a better answer, but perhaps it is a start.

Hello,

State Machine;

I know the diplomacy screen, has a green and red shading used to indicate friendliness towards a country. The map Im talking about is the one you click that has the 2 crossed flags, I believe its called the political map Im not sure though (I don't have my manual handy to check it out). I did try different country tags but they all are appear orange except for the original countries that were made for Fantasia.

dreidcow;

Yes yes, I see what you mean, I have found a file that has color codes, but I don't know where each scenario calls it up. If I could figure out how the scenario assigns the colors and from which file it gets them from I could possible alter it, to get more colors for my new countries. I've also found the files for altering units, flags and shields.

Thanks again folks, I hope more can weigh in with any ideas, I'll keep looking also, and when I find the answer I'll post it here.
