Started my first playthrough as Macedon. About a decade into my rule, my spies begin warning me that they have noticed two of my three sons plotting. Turns out they didn't like my oldest and best son who was to be the primary heir.
A few months go by, and my sons' wife dies attempting to give birth to a grandson. Unfortunately, the child does not make it.
A few more months go by, and the two brothers plot takes fruit. They have poisoned the oldest son, and he is in dire need of help. I decided to let the priest deal with this issue, and my son died in his bed.
A few decades go by, and the two brothers continue to be a severe pain my back.
The king then falls ill, and slowly but surely he passes away of natural causes. The eldest brother is now king, inheriting a sizable country from his father. The younger brother, scared for his life knowing the things he and his eldest brother are capable of, flees the country and seeks asylum in a close by country. When the new king brother finds out, he declares that the smaller country has made an enemy of Macedon for harboring his little brother.
Not but 2 days after being declared an enemy of Macedon, the youngest brother is crucified and killed. The older brother is pleased to hear this and celebrates with a new young wife.
Thus ends the first period of Macedon, and the second begins.
