On the Byzantium desc, it says that with some mercenary army, they could fend of the crusaders of the Fourth Crusade. However, in another thread, I was told that the Fourth Crusade never took place as the Third was successfull. Which is true?

Ah yes, those old Aberration country descriptions.

Noone has stepped up to the plate yet to update that one, nor many others.

Would you like to rewrite it?

Not really as I haven't really gotten into Interregnum yet. :)

Fair enough.

And when you do get into Interregnum, one part of Europe that desperately needs rewriting and additions is the Union of Kalmar and Norway.

Maybe something that would interest you ... ? :)

At least the Union of Kalmar interests me, and I could probably throw in some stuff regarding Norway too. :)

IMHO... You can submit all the change you wish when you

- Collaborate when you want or need to change the setup of a assigned country.
- Keep an eye on "plausible" alternate history
- Accepts fair critics when they are constructive

But i don't know if anybody is in charge of UoK of Norway.

Perfect response, but I'll just add the following:

Because this will be your first piece of work, I'd run your idfeas past everyone first.

And remember that most countries files relate to other countries. Events in Finalnd may link to the UofK and trigger off them etc. Best to fully understand a file before you alter it.

Visit the earlier thread started by freiksenet about the UofK, as he had some good points and ideas.

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

If I should be honest, I'd like to redo much of the work - no offence against the maker of the UoK in Aberration, but Interregnum is about alternative history and hardly anything is new to history, except it's in a less nasty version.

I think that was his feeling too.

There is no offence to any of the old (and mostly weak) files from Aberration. We just hadn't gotten round to improving that one. There were a few countries that were done REALLY well and provided the inspiration for how Interregnum is done, and these we have largely retained (Cordoba and Byzantium, for example), while others have been heavily reworked (Eire and Hansa, for example) or were total rubbish and scrapped (Brittany, Burgundy, Savoy etc).

Tear it to pieces and add the complexity and possibilities for peace with Norway and Hansa that the file is sorely lacking.

Just be gentle on the Sund Crisis events which link with the Hansa file. These have been revised extensively already. Happy to rework things, but the possession of Sjaelland triggers a fair bit in the Hansa file.

Love to see a rejuvenated Swedish navy based on a reinvigorated mercantile fleet during the period of Hansa decline 1530 to 1650.

Go for it!

1. Why does der Hanse lose their core on Sjaelland when they aren't given it?

2. Should Finland, after a long period of time, not turn to finnic culture?

Also, I just moved in to a new apartment at school (literally new, the interweb doesn't even work yet there), and will not be able to work on the Inca shit for a little while (lol, I've been suggesting more for Mesoamerica anyways). I suggest for now to just add the countries in; when things settle down and my social life dies down a little I will work on it...assuming I don't have to write ninetysomething pages of essays like I did last fall.

Just for fun, make the Andean kingdoms all aggressive, since the diseases are gonna rampage through early, so if the Kingdom of Qosqo even rises to power, it will not be the only dominant power. Obviously, populations will have to be lowered as well...when in the 1300s is Ahmad thinking of having Mali show up around Cacoal? I don't want to be the only one to make this decision, so that's the kind of thing I would want put up to a vote.

One last thing Iwant to say here: It would be awesome if Tisquantum (It meant Wrath of God in his language; nowadays we refer to him as Squanto) is important in this game around his time. His bizarreness is awesome enough that I might suggest he be a major player in the colonies fuer whoever owns Massachussetts at the time he lived. Or you could kick him up a hundred years to be the Irish Napoleon...sheer awesomeness. Yes.
