Let's see
Why always Rome? why do not exploit the endless possibilities it offers us this game and not change it we focus on something more than a lost city of Italy which had just half luck and half of good managers?.
Egypt, Greece, Persia ... there are many countries that put in their appropriate scenarios and enjoy them.
I do not think being the only one who thinks so
thanks and forgiveness for the inconvenience

Don't let the names fool you, many of the mods are either universal or focus on areas other than Rome itself. Despite the name, ROME:ENHANCED (referring to the game name, not the country) does very little with Rome itself (it actually did nothing to Rome itself until the most recent version), while more drastic changes have been made across the Hellenistic/Celtic/Germanic parts of the map.

Tjeck out my War for the Throne mod for something completely different. It is still in development though with no working beta, but opions and ideas (and help with textures) and much welcome. :)

Well, im a writer of history´s books and i wish to play confortably in more periods than Rome´s supremacy, frecuently i finished bored the game

The main obstacle for us modders (well, ok, me!) is knowledge of the history so we can make changes to the game authentic.

You'll see another thread where I started listing a whole bunch of prospective changes to internal politics - but only for Rome, because it's the only culture I have much familiarity with.

If you can tell me what the internal politics of Macedon or Egypt were in this period I can start thinking of ways to bring them to life!

I can understand that. However it has barely been a month since release, and there is still only a handful of serious modders here. And to the best of my knowledge none of the bigger mods are anywhere near complete. So my suggestion would be to either help out with one of the unfinished mods or start your own mod project. This engine is very versatile, so if you know a lot about say Chinese history, you could make a mod reflecting the warring states periode for instance. I for one would be willing to offer advice to anyone trying to mod the game in any way I can, and I'm sure I'm not the only one here.

mylord, i can tell you ALL the internal politics and politician (sorry bad english) of:
Grecee (all the important city states), Macedon, Egypt, Babilon, Carthage, Celtiberian, Gauls, Cretan, Rodes, Pontus, Persian, Medae...and a lot more.
Only ask to me, mylord

Yes please! What were the main issues in the internal politics of Macedon during the period the game covers?

Hm?

It seems as though relatively few of the mods at the moment do anything extensively and specifically with Rome...

Of the top of my head, we have several dealing with altering the basic mechanics of the game, one changing the map (with the most extensive changes being in Greece, Egypt, and Seleucia so far), and my mod that adds (admittedly fairly generic, since I'm not confident enough of history to do anything really specific, not to mention how the evolution of specific issues might affect other issues) internal politics, extensive rivalries, and makes changes to international relations based on internal divisions.

Very few deal specifically with Rome itself.

Unless you meant in a more rhetorical sense based on the name, "Why emphasize Rome, despite the name? Let's make the rest of the world so interesting that people forget that Rome even exists!", in which case I'm certain many Greek, Egyptian, and Carthinian players have already done so ^_~ ... Though more detail through more mods is always a good thing :) .

Well, then i will create a big source of events, poliths, political parties, historical families and any will get information for the future (or active) mods or so.

You welcome :D

This would be extremely helpful. I'll offer a preemptive Thank You!
