Some (a lot) of people are already starting to build stuff for the game.

We know there will be a night/day update in the future, so builders please plan ahead and think about adding it to your models or updating them when it becomes possible. It would be sad if some of the early stuff released for this game does not have nightlights when they become part of the game.

And a request for the dev team, please release info about the night mode and how to ad it to buildings as soon as you can so builders can implement it :)

I concur, mods should meet the standard set by original models at least. That means all texture maps and so on, including illumination. Where ever possible, they should even succeed them.
However, over the time I noticed that modders have different demand in their work. Some people just... don´t seem to care, you know? So instead of setting up some kind of quality control, I think it´s better to let the people decide for themselves. If anyone wants to make himself a name with bad/unfinished mods, there´s very little someone can do.

Until we have access to the game where night mode is available, there's very little we can do to adapt and learn how things will look in terms of night lighting. We can have an idea of what it may look like, but won't know for sure until we get to try it on our own.

So I'd say; keep your original files around. You might suddenly want to update them if or when new features are added.

Not all. Some we are just "building things" to learn, not to implement directly into game. At least this is my case. I just learned how to bake ambient oclusion, and i feel like a children with candy

It would be great when C:SL is released (and night mode) if some expert make a tutorial. Not about learning how to model in Blender (or other software), just formats/units/textures needed for C:SL, and maybe some good techniques.
