Yes, yes, i know forum isn't for ideas, and even more, CK is hardly the game with sliders, but still:

It would be great if changes to various sliders (leadership distribution HOI, budget VIC, technology spending EU) would need time to realize. It would be both more realistic and also it would add a strategic dimension to decisions about distribution. And less gamey.

So, after i change spending (EU) from 100% land tech to 100% government, it would take, for example (as different sliders should have different inertia of course) a year for the funding to fully change and adjust.

It's somewhat similar to what was my pet idea about introducing diminishing returns on sliders, and both are possible at the same time. But really, wouldn't be that good to have?

Why wouldnt forum be for ideas? :D I mean if there was no feedback from us, this wouldnt really be a "forum" then would it?

Id also like to see something new and interesting when it comes to technologies, but not like that which u mentioned, IMHO this sort of system would simply be too hard for AI to comprehend, and would deblitate it even more.

I liked the way techs used to spread in old CK, something like that in CK2 would be more adequate for that era, rather than "centralized" research like HOI or EU3.

I'm not sure about this. CK1 tech system was good for roleplaying. As a king you basically said I want better (imput general tech). I would like to see it have a little greater effect.

Example being if I go to war Cordoba as Castille and they have road networks, the King (me) should be like "Wow my armies move much more smoothly through here I want this back in my realm."

So best implementation would be to decrease MTTH of techs in land that you conquered and is in your personal demense.

Only forseeable problem I can see is that the Spanish/Portuguese would rapidly advance should they conquer the muslim provinces.

Oh well comments/ideas?

Jesus, people, i didn't mean changing the tech system, CK tech system is excellent :D

I was talking about sliders in general, the tech example was from EU - in CK we have taxes, whatever, as sliders :p

I agree with your ideas. I also think that there should be more spread based on neighbor and within the same realm. Also, some areas should start with better technologies and/or buildings. To work off your example, Cordoba should have a cathedral (actually the grand mosque that is converted after the Castilian conquest) pretty much from the start as well as a university, since it was a center of learning. Some areas that host fairs (like Champagne, Venice) or that are pilgrimage sites (like Galicia, Rome) should get bonuses to technology. Just some thoughts.
